Interface of Geodiversity with human response can be understood simply as, the natural range (diversity) of geological (rocks, minerals, fossils), geomorphological (landforms, topography, physical processes), soil and hydrological features including their assemblages, structures, systems and contributions to landscapes together with the anthropogenic amalgamation in the landscape system. Geomorphosites are those components of geodiversity that have acquired a scientific, cultural/historical, aesthetic and socio-economic value due to human perception or exploitation (Panizza, 2001). The trans-Himalayan district of Lahaul and Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, India is a landlocked district in trans-Himalaya accessible seasonally through high mountain passes; where the interface is manifested though human response to the geodiversity elements. The abiotic factors play a significant role in generating stimuli and the human response varies accordingly in the study area. It is also known as the Tethyan Himalayan region, where the interface (interactive zone/crossing point/edge) of Geomorphosites and human response in terms of geotourism has been analysed and mapped. The data has been collected through extensive field work using structured questionnaire survey and field observations at geomorphosites having unique characteristics. The field work has been done in May–June 2017 and June 2018. The assessment of human response in terms of seasonal economy and geotourism has been done using GIS environment, GPS and SWOT analysis. The study highlights that potential geotourism sites have to be further identified, explored and developed in the region and the existing sites have to be conserved in order to harness the tremendous geotourism potential of the region and thereby boosting the seasonal economy.

<p>Geoheritage are those components of geodiversity that are specifically identified as having conservation significance; that have some specific value to human society and therefore ought to be conserved, particularly if they are threatened by human activities and could therefore be lost or damaged. The Spiti valley of Himachal Pradesh, India is unique due to the presence of Tethyan sediments that are exposed and have abundance of fossils that makes it a rich and valuable geoheritage site. The research focuses upon the study of various existing tourist hot spots and potential geoheritage sites. The main objective of the study is to assess the human response (geotourism) to the diversity of existing and potential geoheritage sites in the area. The study is largely based on the field work conducted in the study area between 2014-19 in which data has been collected through structured questionnaire survey, observation and in-depth interviews through field work and SWOT analysis has been done accordingly. The locations of geoheritage sites have been marked using Global positioning System (GPS) and an overlay map has been prepared using Arc Map 10 (GIS software). Overall, the major issue is the lack of geoconservation policy and inaccessibility which needs to be addressed with better management efforts such as Fossil Park or geo-park establishment.</p><p><strong>Key words:</strong> Geoheritage, Geotourism, Spiti Valley, Potential Geoheritage Sites, Fossil Park</p>

Garbage can be interpreted as a consequence of the activities of human life. It is undeniable, garbage will always be there as long as life activities continue to run. Every year, it can be ascertained that the volume of waste will always increase along with the increasing pattern of public consumerism. The landfill which is increasingly polluting the environment requires a technique and management to manage waste into something useful and of economic value, Bantas Village, Selemadeg Timur District, Tabanan Regency currently has a Waste Management Site (TPS3R) managed by Non-Governmental Organizations (KSM ) The source of waste comes from Households, Stalls, Restaurant Entrepreneurs, Schools, Offices and Ceremonies which are organic and inorganic waste. The waste management system at Bantas Lestari TPS with 3R system is Reduce (reduction of waste products starts from the source), Reuse (reuse for waste that can be reused) and Recycle (recycling waste) to date it is still running but not optimal. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative with data analysis using SWOT analysis. This study produces a Waste Management Strategy which is the result of research from the management aspect, aspects of human resources and aspects of infrastructure facilities.

The GESAAF Department of the UNIFI has been involved in the project “Gestione ambientale e del rischio nel dipartimento di Sololà” in the period 2011-’12 aiming at guaranteeing water access to people leaving in rural areas in the Sololà Department in Guatemala, in collaboration with the two NGOs Movimento Africa ’70 and Oxfam Italia. Appropriate technologies, such as EMAS pump and well drilled with the Baptista- Boliviana technique, have been proposed and utilized for improving water access in areas where lack of water represented a limiting factor for the human development. They can be both considered compatible with local, cultural and economic conditions: in fact locally available materials are used and the tools can be maintained and operationally controlled by the local users. At the end of the project, 52 EMAS pumps have been installed and 19 wells drilled, 33 pumps have been installed in already existing wells tank. Formation activities of local people played an important role: diffusion actions of the methodology started from schools, 20 workers participated to an in class course and more than 100 participated in the field work. Monitoring activities on the 52 installed pumps have been carried out in order to check the performances of the pumps and the knowledge level acquired by the users. After some months of operation, more than 80% of the pumps were correctly functioning and the required maintenance activities have been carried out in collaboration with the local users. In order to analyze the project results, a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) has been carried out for developing a strategy able to tackle the weaknesses and threats of the procedure. The application of the SWOT analysis showed to be an useful tool to analyse the current situation coming from the ended project. It has been helpful to gauge how the project performed. The analysis results may be also utilized for exploring strengths and weaknesses of a possible transferring of the methodology to other sites.

Batik Semanggi is one of the typical batiks in Surabaya which has economic value for the community. However, the competitiveness of the clover batik business is relatively low. This study aims to identify the internal environmental conditions (strengths-weaknesses) and external (opportunities-threats) of the clover batik craftsmen as the basis for formulating a strategy to increase competitiveness. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques focus group discussions (FGD), semi-structured interviews, observation and document collection. Informants were determined using a purposive method. The data analysis uses interactive models and SWOT analysis. The results showed several strengths that can encourage the floating of clover batik, namely the ability to make a capable batik, iconic distinctive motifs and organic batik technology. The opportunities that arise, namely export opportunities, support of the city government, support of other elements of society, and online marketing opportunities. While weaknesses include the number of craftsmen, low online marketing capabilities, motives not yet registered as intellectual property rights, limited production, and marketing volumes, traditional tools, and low capital. The threat that arises namely, the emergence of other motifs as a competitor batik, and batik printing production that offers cheaper prices with a larger production scale. The map of strengths and weaknesses and threats above are very useful as a material for formulating strategies in empowering clover batik craftsmen.

Fisheries development is a human effort in increasing the utilization of all fishery's biological resources which include the fishery capture, aquaculture, and processing sectors. Grouper is a commodity that has high economic value, but the amount of aquaculture production is still low, one of which is in Gerokgak district.This research was conductedfrom February to March 2018, in Gerokgak District, Buleleng Regency,Bali Province. Dataobtainedthrough interviews, observations, documentation, and questionnaires directly with respondents, namely the Department of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of Buleleng Regency, business owners, managers, and grouper farmers. The analysis used in this study was toobtaina grouper cultivation strategy using a SWOT analysis. From the results of the calculation of the analysis and determination of the SWOT matrix,thewgovernment must increase grouper aquaculture results by increasing the number of hatchery and enlargement businesses. The government is more responsive to the problems faced by farmers.

Boyolali Regency is among districts in Indonesia, which still has poverty issues and receives direct cash assistance from the government. Yet, villages of the regency including Sruni at Musuk sub-district has been known as one of the main producers of fresh cow milk for the Central Java region.There has been no attempt to process fresh milk into food products of higher economic value at Sruni Village. Meanwhile, results of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis at Musuk showed that the region has the potential to be developed for dairy industry. Therefore, through socialization program, community empowerment should be initiated by socializing benefits of fermenting cattle milk into yogurt as a probiotic food product. The socialization had been carried out for 12 housewives in the village of Sruni through two small-class seminars in April 2019. Evaluation was conducted by comparing the number of correct answers from participants’ answers recorded on questionnaire given prior and after each of both seminars. Percentage of improved answers were presented in histograms and then analyzed. As results, the first seminar produced in average 47.4% improved answers, while the second seminar could generate in average 27.3% improved answers. The results showed that in general, the conducted socialization program was quite successful in improving understanding of Sruni villagers on the benefits of fermenting cattle milk into yogurt as a probiotic food product.

The notion that human perceptual decisions are based on discrete processing cycles rather than a continuous accumulation of information was examined experimentally. Significant periodicities were found in human response times (RT) to feature and conjunction discrimination tasks in the visual and auditory modalities. Individual RT histograms were multimodal, with regularly spaced peaks and troughs, indicating that responses were emitted more frequently at regularly recurring time intervals following stimulus presentation. On average, responses were initiated after four to seven discrete processing steps whose “quantum” duration was proportional to task difficulty.

Chengi a major river of Khagrachari district is getting polluted day by day due to unplanned river management. Both primary and secondary data have been used to conduct this work. Primary data have been collected through extensive field work, questionnaire and sample collection. Water samples have been collected from three sampling station, namely Ganjapara, Chengi Bridge and Rubber factory sites. Water temperature is higher at different sampling stations in the study site than Bangladesh standards (25°C) due to the direct hit of the sun. The maximum DO value is 5.8 mg/l at the sampling station one and the minimum is 5.3 mg/l at station three. So, it concluded that the DO value of the Chengi river is comparatively lower than the Bangladesh Standards. The water Temperature and pH is higher than the Bangladesh standards and the value of other parameters are very lower than the Bangladesh standards. In fish diversity, 10 families belonging to 6 orders were recorded and identified by the fin formula. The order Cypriniformes occupied 40%, the order Perciformes which occupies 25% and the order Beloniformes, Siluriformes, Cyprinodontiformes occupied 10% and Mollusks and other invertebrates occupied 25%, respectively in all cases. This work provides a complete picture of the water quality and also the fish diversity of the Chengi River. It will be helpful for water resource management and planning. Bangladesh J. Potential and opportunities for cassava development are still very broad along with development of companies in livestock, processed food, and other industries. Added value of cassava commodities resulting from development of downstream industries (processed products) is far higher than upstream industries (primary products), so that development paradigm in agriculture sector in future should be directed towards product expansion including its waste. This study aims to examine the economic value of cassava as a future crop from direct as well as by-products and their development strategies. Data was collected from small-scale tapioca flour farmers, ranchers and entrepreneurs. SWOT analysis was used to determine relevant development strategies. Analysis shows that cassava has an potential, especially as a raw material for food and feed industry. In short term, developing cassava strategy as an industrial raw material is to use new technologies i.e. varieties and cultivation techniques for planting arrangements. Cassava potential economic value is relatively high in terms of farming aspects, food raw materials, feed and industry. This potential, apart from main product, is also by-product that has been neglected at 29.7% of cassava main value. By-products potensial has not been used optimally and a bioeconomic value of biomass that can support integrated agriculture in the future.

This paper is based on a study designed to evaluate industry's perception of the standard of graduates from Kuwait's Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAE&T). The College of Technological Studies, the College of Business Studies, and the Electricity and Water Training Centre were selected as representative institutions of the PAAE&T. The oil sector, the Ministry of Electricity and Water, and local commercial and industrial banks were chosen as representative of the recipients of PAAE&T graduates. The study was based on extensive field work which encompassed a review of related literature, questionnaires and personal interviews with the General Director of the PAAE&T, selected deans, heads of departments, heads of industrial placement, lecturers, and final-year students. In addition, to evaluate the industrial perspective, questionnaires and personal interviews with key figures in industry, as well as with PAAE&T graduates and their direct supervisors, were conducted. The paper argues that unless the PAAE&T recognizes the value of building strong links with industry, its contribution in tackling the shortage of skilled and semi-skilled Kuwaiti manpower will be below expectations, thus increasing dependence on expatriate workers for years to come.
