Kenyan youths have been marginalized from mainstream economic activities since independence. This situation has had a negative impact such as slowed economic growth, a rise in crime and violence, and the spread of diseases. It is these issues that have prompted this study on the influence of church policies on the economic empowerment of youths with a specific focus on the PCEA Nyahururu Parish. The study was guided by the Positive Youth Development model. It employed the descriptive research design and targeted a population of 233respondents comprising of 220 youths and 13 leaders (2 congregation chairpersons, 1 clergy, 1 evangelist, 1 youth coordinator, and 8 youth leaders). From this population, a sample of 94respondentswas selected using the clustered random sampling method where the two congregations that make up the PCEA Nyahururu Parish formed the clusters. Quantitative data was collected from youths using structured questionnaires while qualitative data was collected from the church administrators using interview guides. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as percentages and means as well as inferential statistics. Qualitative data were analyzed using the thematic content analysis technique and results reported using quotes. Findings revealed that there is a low level of economic empowerment among the youths at the PCEA Nyahururu parish. Church policies on single parenthood and divorce/ separation have a statistically significant and negative contribution towards youth economic empowerment. Church policies on the use of modern technologies have a positive and statistically significant relationship with youth economic empowerment. The study recommends that churches should re-examine its policies in single parenthood and divorce/ separation.

Not a few also couples who want to establish a household are forced to postpone marriage because of the high amount of money that has been determined from the woman side. The research question in this paper is how the implementation of the practice of conducting delivery money in marriage customs in Lampung, is it true that the determination of very high sums of money influences the delay in marriage in the community and how the Islamic law views the delivery money which causes delays in marriage. By using field research methods, the data have been grouped into two forms, namely quantitative data and qualitative data. Quantitative data is the data of the results of the questionnaire while the qualitative data is the data of the results of interviews and observations. Then from the quantitative data tables are then analyzed and concluded while the qualitative data is connected between one fact and the other facts, then analyzed using a descriptive analysis approach. The results of the study found that the indigenous people of Lampung all practiced giving money and stipulated it by looking at the education of women, their work and the number of stipulated habits in the village, and eight pending marriages from several cases due to high cash, to the impacts arising from the stipulation of high and contradictory money with valid ‘urf terms; it can be concluded that the law of high passing money is not appropriate as it should apply.
This study aims to determine and describe the effectiveness of the use of jigsaw-flash learning model on geometry material. The jigsaw-flash learning model is a jigsaw learning model which is modified with adobe flash media. The research method used is mix method research with exploratory sequential strategy. This research was conducted in state junior high schools in Surakarta. Subjects in this study were the students of class VIII namely class VIII-2 as an experimental class and class VIII-3 as a control class selected by random sampling technique. The experimental class was taught with a jigsaw-flash learning model and the control class was taught with a jigsaw model. The procedures performed in this study include qualitative data collection and data analysis followed by quantitative data collection and data analysis. The researcher used interview method for collecting qualitative data. While quantitative data collection was conducted by test and the analysis technique used was t-test. The results of this study indicate that students feel more comfortable and interested in studying geometry material taught by jigsaw-flash model. In addition, students taught using the jigsaw-flash model are more active and motivated than the students who were taught using jigsaw models in studying geometric material. This shows that the use of the jigsaw-flash model can increase student participation and motivation. The results of this study also indicate that the increase in student achievement taught by the jigsaw-flash model which is indicated by t-test result t = 2,259 with df = 38. Based on the results, it can be concluded that jigsaw-flash model is more effective than jigsaw model. Therefore, teachers need to consider the use of jigsaw-flash learning model in learning geometry material.
