Salah satu program yang dikeluarkan Kementerian Kehutanan terkait pemberdayaan masyarakat adalah program Hutan Kemasyarakatan (HKm), yang salah satunya berlokasi di Kabupaten Kulon Progo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik sosial ekonomi petani HKm Kulon Progo dan kontribusi HKm terhadap pendapatan petani. Penelitian dilakukan mulai November 2013 sampai dengan Februari 2014. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei dan wawancara kepada anggota kelompok tani dan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan petani HKm rata-rata berusia 53 tahun, pendidikan petani rendah karena 53% lulusan SD. Rata-rata jumlah tanggungan keluarga 4 orang. Rata-rata luas lahan andil 2.128 m2 dan rata-rata luas lahan milik 2.947 m2 sehingga termasuk petani gurem. Tujuh puluh persen petani HKm hutan produksi dan 47,3% petani HKm hutan lindung masuk ke dalam kategori miskin sekali dan miskin. Kontribusi HKm pada pendapatan petani adalah 6,4% pada hutan produksi dan 4,8% pada hutan lindung. Kecilnya kontribusi dari HKm berimplikasi pada upaya peningkatan pendapatan petani melalui pengembangan potensi tanaman empon-empon dan umbi-umbian serta potensi wisata. Characteristic of Farmer and Contribution of Community Forestry to Farmer’s Income in Kulon ProgoAbstractOne of the project that is held by Ministry of Forestry is Community Forestry (CF), which one is located in Kulon Progo. This research aim was to obtain the social-economic characteristic of CF farmers in Kulon Progo and to know the contribution of CF to their total earning. The data collection had been held from November 2013 until February 2014 and was collected by survey and interview to some members of CF groups. The data was analyzed by descriptive qualitative method. The results showed that the average of  farmer’s age was 53; farmer’s education was in a low level as 53% were graduated from elementary school. The average of family member were 4 persons. The average of CF land was 2.128 m2 and the average of farmers’s own land was 2.947 m2. That was meant that the farmer was near to be categorized as poor farmer. Seventy percent of farmers from production forest and 47.3% farmers from protected forest were categorized as very poor and poor. CF contribution towards farmer’s income was 6.4% in production forest and 4.8% in protected forest. The low contribution of CF implicated to improve farmer’s income through developing non-timber forest product asherbs and edible root and also potential for eco-tourism.

The Phenomenon of Bia Music in Batu village community needs to be closely examined considering that the Bia Music in the past to the present time is shifting and changing, due to lack of awareness, people's behavior towards Mia Music. The music of this tradition is very apprehensive to see the reality of the players from year to year diminishing in quantity and quality. The purpose of this research is to analyze: (1) Function of Bia Music, (2) Social reality that happened in society. This research uses qualitative method with data collection technique of interview, observation and document study. The technique of data validity is based on the credibility criteria, using triangulation of data. Data analysis techniques used are data collection, data presentation, data reduction, and data verification. The results of this study indicate that the Functions of Bia Music, among others, as a medium of ritual, communication media, into evangelism media, events of cultural festivals, education, association, entertainment and publicity. There are three moments of dialectics in the social realities of externalization, objectivity, and internalization.

This study is an exploration of the menace of out-of-school children in Kano metropolis. The study used qualitative method of investigation to investigate the social economic conditions of the children, factors that keep them on the street and possible ways of taking them off the street back to school. Data revealed a harsh and deplorable living conditions of the children. It was also revealed that poverty, negligence by parents, high rate of divorce and ignorance on the part of parents are the major reasons why the children remain on the street. Taking the children out of the street would require effective implementation of social policies on family life, poverty reduction and the universal basic education act of 2004.

This study aims to determine the development of the social and economic life of transmigrant communities in A Widodo village Tugumulyo District in 1980-2017. The method that researchers use is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques in research using interview techniques, observation, and documentation. Technical analysis of data with a step triangulation. Based on the results of research and discussion, it is known that the socio-economic life of the A Widodo village in the Tugumulyo District in 1980-2017 has changed from the beginning of the A Widodo feda in 1937 to the present. This changed can be seen from the field of education. Ranging from opening a business, trading, raising livestock, to fish farming and other, other in the fields of education and economic, also seen in the form of social and religious interactin, where individuals interact with each other and help each other help each other, they repect each other’s religions in the village of A Widodo, namely Islam, Protestantism, Catholic Christianity, Hinduism, they do not mock one another or insult religion. Will determine a person’s social status, the higher the level of education the easier it is to find work and the more respected by the surrounding community.

Role of posyandu cadres in empowering the community of BintanPurposeThis study aimed to determine the role of posyandu cadres in empowering the community in Kawal village, Gunung Kijang district, Bintan regency.MethodsThis study used a qualitative method with a case study design and purposive sampling technique, with the cadres of posyandu. Data collection was done by in-depth interviews and focus group discussion (FGD), with triangulation of sources and methods.ResultsThe role of cadres are as a health motivator, with the extension officers of the health and medical services as well as cadres being able to identify the needs, barriers and help to coordinate in providing health services.ConclusionPosyandu cadres have high social spirit created by the combination of internal and external motivation, resources and potential as well as experience developing ability, with the social spirit capable of inspiring, activating, stimulating, mobilizing and motivating people.

This study aims to determine the analysis of the implementation of the competence of public elementary school teachers in Sungai Raya subdistrict, Kubu Regency. The study was conducted in Sungai Raya Subdistrict with 29 elementary school teachers. Data collected are pedagogical, personal, social, and professional competencies using data collection tools in the form of interview sheets, non-participant observation sheets, and documentation. Data analysis uses a checklist matrix technique with several stages, namely: data collection, data reduction, data display, drawing conclusions. The results showed that: First, the implementation of pedagogical competencies by public elementary school teachers in Sungai Raya Subdistrict, Kubu Raya District, was interpreted that the teacher's ability to educate reached an average of 3.37 with a good category. Second, the personality competency of public elementary school teachers in Sungai Raya Subdistrict, Kubu Raya Regency, averaged 3.30 in the good category. Third, the social competency of public elementary school teachers in Sungai Raya District is an average of 3.37 with a good category. The four professional competencies of public elementary school teachers in Sungai Raya District reach an average of 3.30 in the good category. The results of this study, it is suggested to be a reference for similar research related to teacher competencies, which should be part of the teacher to dedicate himself to serve especially elementary school teachers in Sungai Raya District Kubu Raya District.

Teenagers language is considered as variant of Indonesian language which socially mark that the social group who uses such language are teenagers. In various contexts, the using of teenagers language shows different forms. The using of Indonesian language in rubric “Deteksi” Jawa Pos brings particularity, syntactic, and lexicon level. This article aims to describe the language attitude of teenagers with using not standardized indicator of Indonesian language in rubric “Deteksi” Jawa Pos. The data in this research is in using Indonesian language in the forms of words, phrases and sentences. The method used in this research is qualitative method. Data collection was conducted by using observation method and taking note technique. The data analyzing applied distributional method. The research result shows that (1) there are some not- standardized indicators in rubric “Deteksi” Jawa Pos such as interferences, code mixing, and unexamined spelling in writing forms and (2) teenegers language attitude in term of the awareness of language norm. Abstrak Bahasa remaja dipandang sebagai varian bahasa Indonesia yang secara sosial menandai bahwa kelompok sosial yang menggunakan varian itu adalah kaum remaja. Dalam berbagai konteks, pemakaian bahasa remaja memperlihatkan wujud yang berbeda. Pemakaian bahasa Indonesia dalam rubrik “Deteksi” Jawa Pos menampakkan kekhasan, baik pada tataran fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, maupun leksikon. Artikel ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan sikap bahasa kaum remaja dengan melihat indikator ketidakbakuan pemakaian bahasa Indonesia dalam rubrik “Deteksi” Jawa Pos. Data penelitian ini adalah kesalahan pemakaian bahasa Indonesia berupa kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat yang dimuat di rubrik “Deteksi” Jawa Pos. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode simak melalui teknik catat. Analisis data menggunakan metode agih. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) Beberapa indikator ketidakbakuan dalam rubrik “Deteksi” Jawa Pos antara lain interferensi, campur kode, serta ketidakcermatan ejaan dalam bentuk tertulis dan (2) sikap bahasa remaja ditinjau dari kesadaran akan norma bahasa.

Justice is a widely used evaluation criterion applied to both particular decisions and behavioursas well as to whole social, economic and political systems. The paper presents research results fromthe representative sample of adult Poles conducted in September 2014. The goal of the research wasto investigate the relationships between different schemata of world perception and the evaluationof the justice of the current socio-economic system. The method of the data collection was computerassisted telephone interviews. The results indicate that the evaluations of justice of the politicalsystem are lower when: political cynicism is higher, interpersonal distrust is higher and whenrespondents held a stronger belief that the social world is full of uncontrollable danger. Also thelower evaluations of justice of the current system were accompanied by acceptance of aggressionin politics. Socio-demographic variables were less correlated with the evaluations of the justiceof the system then were psychological variables. Only age and educational level significantly butweakly differentiated the evaluations of justice.

This study applies social quality framework to analyze the current social development of Taiwan by utilizing governmental database as secondary dataset and using meta-analysis as further check in data collection. This study found that the social development of current Taiwan society basically keeps progressing along with requirements and indicators of social quality. Among them, Taiwan’s performance of social development in dimension of social economic security goes best. And in social inclusion and social empowerment dimensions, the indicators obviously show much progressive. However, the biggest room for further improvement and development is in social cohesion.

The background of this research begins when one travel agent in Jakarta provides a tour package based on Pro-Poor Tourism called Social Humanity Tour. In Social Humanity Tour tourists will be invited to see people’s lives, interact and conduct social activities in the slum area in Jakarta. Kampung Tongkol and Kampung Luar Batang are the most visited destinations for tourists. The purpose of this research is to know the socio-cultural impact of Pro-Por Tourism in Kampung Tongkol and Kampung Luar Batang based on the Social Humanity Tour. Data collection in this research is done through observation,interview, and documentation. The method used in this research is qualitative method and the collected data is analyzed using the descriptive qualitative method. The result obtained in this research regarding the changes in the form of community in Kampung Tongkol and Kampung Luar Batang is that there is a positive change. From 9 aspects of socio-cultural impacts used in the research, there are only 2 aspect that have changed in both villages. Communities become open-minded towards the tourism, the community becomes braver while interacting with tourists, and the community,especially the children, receives many benefits both in the material and non-material form. In addition tourists often educate the children there. Some suggestions that must be considered in this research is, that the communities should not be oriented with material assistance from tourists because it can threaten the sustainability of the tourism in both villages. <p>This article explains the problem of soft skills in elementary school. So far, the orientation of education focused on hard skills while soft skills play a lot on social environment after graduating from school almost untouched at all. This research use descriptive qualitative method with qualitative analysis technique of content (content analysis). The result show that the problem of soft skills in basic education is the competence of the professional profession although it is rich in the concept of general education and Islamic education. But when it is not balanced with the competence of the profession the teacher will have implications on the readiness to deal with the social environment during adulthood.</p>
