This community service aims to improve the quality of Toman Fish Shredded and Honey products that have competitiveness, differentiation and strong and aesthetic packaging through training in design of packaging and label. The community service was held in the Lati Petangis Grand Forest Park (Tahura) area, Paser Regency. The objects of this community service are the Forest Farmers Group (KTH) and the Women Farmers Group (KWT). The problems faced by KTH and KWT are: (1) the flagship product has not been packaged in a good and attractive packaging; and (2) lack of skills in making packaging and label designs. This training requires several graphic design applications, so that KTH and KWT's flagship products have the attractive packaging and labels. The output produced is an increase in skills in packaging design and innovative product labels which are expected to increase sales of superior products.

Ipteks bagi masyarakat (IbM) merupakan salah satu bentuk pengabdian masyarakat yang memiliki keunggulan tersendiri. Tim pengusul kali ini mengambil lokasi pengabdian di daerah Malang pada UKM Kripik Tempe Elang Jawa dan UKM Kripik Tempe Selera Pemberani tepatnya di wilayah jalan Sanan Kelurahan Purwantoro Kecamatan Blimbing Kota Malang. Adapun tujuan tim pengusul IbM ini adalah ingin mengembangkan produksi kripik tempe sebagai ciri khas kota Malang yang bekerja sama dengan mitra untuk memperbaiki kualitas proses pembuatan dan pengemasan kripik tempe tersebut dengan harapan daya jangkau pemasaran mitra semakin luas, sehingga pendapatan mitra akan bertambah dan dapat meningkatkan taraf hidup keluarga. Rencana kegiatan yang akan dilakukan pada mitra adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam membuat desain kemasan agar lebih menarik dalam pemasaran dan cara menganalisa untung rugi UKM dalam bentuk analisa BEP usaha serta pemberian alat pengiris tempe dan pengemas kripik tempe yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan mitra untuk mengembangkan usahanya sehingga produk yang dihasilkan akan lebih higienis saat pengirisan dan tahan lebih lama dalam penyimpanan dengan menggunakan kemasan plastik yang sesuai standar serta dapat dikemas lebih rapat dan rapi. Selain itu, tim pengusul juga memberikan trik-trik dalam teknik komunikasi pemasaran agar kegiatan pemasaran yang selama ini kurang efektif, akan semakin berkembang dengan adanya model pemasaran baru yang ditawarkan oleh tim pengusul yakni pemasaran melalui media internet (website) dan personal selling serta cara mendesain kemasan yang lebih menarik bagi konsumen. Kata kunci : Kripik tempe, Pemasaran, Alat pengiris, Alat pengemas. ABSTRACT Science and technology for society is one form of community service that has its own advantages. Proposer team this time taking the location service in the area of Malang on Elang Jawa of tempe chips UKM and UKM chips Tempe of Selera Pemberani in the way Courageous Village Purwantoro Sanan Blimbing district of Malang. The purpose of the team proposer IbM of this is to develop the production of chips tempe as typical city of Malang are working with partners to improve the quality of the manufacturing process and packaging chips tempe with the hope of a range of partner marketing increasingly widespread, so that the partner revenue will grow and be able to improve family life. Plan activities to be carried out on a partner is to provide training and assistance in making the packaging design to make it more attractive in marketing and how to analyze the cost-benefit of UKM in the form of analysis BEP business as well as the provision of slicer tempeh and packaging chips tempe tailored to the needs of partners to expand its business so that the resulting product will be more hygienic when slicing and last longer in storage by using plastic packaging standards-compliant and can be packed more tightly and neatly. In addition, the team proposer also provide the tricks in the techniques of marketing communication that marketing activities which have been less effective, will grow with the new marketing model offered by the team proposing that marketing via the Internet (website) and personal selling as well as how to design packaging more appealing to consumers. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memenuhi kewajiban dosen untuk melakukan tridharma perguruan tinggi. Untuk itu sudah menjadi kewajiban bagi dosen berbagi pengetahuan dan wawasan melalui penyuluhan pengembangan manajemen sumber daya manusia agar senantiasa berupaya mencapai tujuan organisasi dengan efektif dan efisien. Dan juga bertujuan Karang Taruna Kampung serua poncol dapat menjalankan fungsi dan perannya secara optimal sehingga mendatangkan manfaat bagi Kampung serua poncol. Magazine is one of the forms of mass media that has fungsikomunikasi to convey information to mass audiences. The cover is an important element because it is through cover / cover one can guess the contents of the magazine, as well as further interested to know further information contained therein. On a magazine cover consists of drawings and writings are arranged in such a way that looks interesting and has meaning Press publications, especially magazines, today's not enough just to rely on the quality of news or manuscript, although verbal aspect is very important. It must be recognized that the visual aspects (design) as the cover / envelope has crucial role to capture the prospective reader. For the cover of a magazine is a window that shows the content information, can be either a text or photographs, illustrations, and design elements. The function of a magazine cover is to attract, dazzle prospective readers, by way influence the thoughts flow in a short time. So it's no wonder much current the magazine publisher who made the cover of such a way as to attract the attention of prospective readers. Thus the task of designers to magazine cover to create designs that attract the attention of the reader becomes increasingly severe. This study tries to analyze a visual on the front cover Magazine Graphic Design 'Concept' birthday inaugural edition by using the Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. As Roland Barthes (1984), any simple "design work (magazine cover)" continue to play in management of the sign. So that will generate a message (image) specific. Design cover, usually contains the elements of the sign in the form of objects, context of the environment, people or other beings who provide meaning to objects, and text (of writing) that reinforce the meaning.Keyword: cover, magazine Concept, semiotics

Banyuwangi Regency is one of the agricultural centers in East Java province and Indonesia. Mostly,Banyuwangi people work as farmers due to the fertil soil and wide amount of agricultural land in Banyuwangi . Thelarge number of people who work as farmers initiating the formation of farmer groups. One of the farmer groups in theSrono sub-district of Banyuwangi is the "Tan Selo 1" farmers group located in the village of Sukomaju and the "TanSelo 2" farmers group in Sukonatar village. The normal average price of one banana bunch in Banyuwangi is between50-60 thousand depending on the type and quality of bananas. Problems arise when the quantity of bananas in the marketarose, the price of 1 bunch of bananas decreases dramatically. The price of 1 bunch which is usually set at 50-60thousand drops drastically to only 20-30 thousand. This is certainly a problem for farmers in the Tan Selo group. The lackof knowledge of Tan Selo farmers about alternative variants of processed banana based products and the lack ofknowledge of the marketing strategies make it hard for the Tan Selo farmers to increase the economic value of bananaswhich have been used as an alternative income for farmers. Therefore, the solutions offered to overcome the problems offarmers include: equipping and improving farmers' knowledge about the variety of processed banana-based foods andtheir marketing strategies, conducting training to make variations on banana-based foods, conducting training oneffective marketing strategies. Overall, a series of community service programs were carried out perfectly as it expected.The percentage of participants' understanding in choosing high quality bananas is 85%, the percentage of participants’ability in processing banana-based foods is 86%, and percentage of participants who successfully sell processed foodproducts by utilizing online shopping sites is 70%

This article analyses the contribution to local development by women workers in the fruit- and vegetable-handling sector in Almería (Spain) over the last five years (2015–2019). It is a continuation of research carried out during the period 2000–2014. Using data collected through surveys and focus groups, the aim is to ascertain if the results obtained in this analysis meet the condition of sustainability, i.e., whether the improvement in working women’s quality of life has been maintained over time, and whether these beneficial effects have multiplied. The results show that women workers in the fruit- and vegetable-handling sector are satisfied with their jobs and with the company they are working for. The existence of fixed-discontinuous employment contracts facilitates greater flexibility for women in terms of balancing work and family life. This main contribution of this study lies in extrapolating the sustainability of a local development model in regard to other initiatives that aim to increase women’s empowerment in the labour market.

One of the great traditions in Islamic education institutions in Indonesia is teaching by transmitting Islamic values as found in classical books written centuries ago. The majority in Indonesia, the classic book is better known as the Kitab Kuning. Teaching with the Kitab Kuning is usually done in Islamic Boarding Schools. Examining Kitab Kuning requires qualified Arabic language skills at least passively. Unfortunately, not all Islamic boarding schools that have a variety of superior programs in certain fields, are weak in the field of studying Kitab Kuning. One of them is the Islamic Boarding School Mu'allimin Muhammadiyyah Sawah Dangka which has the flagship Tahfizh Alquran program but is weak in the study of Kitab Kuning. One of the main factors is the lack of adequate quality of human resources. For this reason, this community service activity aims to provide training while introducing new, lightweight methods in learning Arabic, namely the Bihaqatil Jumal method. This method emphasizes learning Arabic using the right brain. After a series of community service activities, teachers and Islamic boarding schools felt helped and gained new experiences in learning Arabic methods to study Kitab Kuning. In addition, both the assisted object and the resource person requested that this kind of community service be continued.

Product design become more important thing for traditional snack producers, especially jajan pasar, which is the term for traditional snack in the Semarang and Central Java Region. The design of packaging and digital advertising is also a supporting tool in marketing of jajan pasar. The development of creativity and product packaging innovation is the key to achieving success for the business being run. Product packaging is a way for consumers to judge a product both in the terms of benefits, aesthetics and quality of the product. The unique product design is an added value in marketing of jajan pasar through digital advertising. Jajan pasar are the potency of Gajahmungkur, but this potential is not supported by packaging design and digital advertising in expanding marketing. Seeing this problem, the communication science lecturer cooperated with Karang Taruna Gajahmungkur to create a public service program about the importance of digital advertising supported by a unique packaging design to increase the marketing of jajan pasar in the Gajahmungkur. Public service activities regarding packaging design and digital advertising are expected to be able to help the people of Gajahmungkur in marketing jajan pasar product so that they can improve the prosperity of Gajahmungkur communities

Community service activities with IbM scheme have been done in home industry of soybean milk processing in Sraten and Kartasura Village, Sukoharjo District. The aim of activities are all partners able process soybean juice into health drink product in ready to drink packaging, adn next can be as new economic commodity to the community. In addition, partners are expected to have a clear administrative and governance system in finance, production and, marketing as an effort to empower communities in Sukoharjo District. Considering the benefits of this soy essence is so great then product diversification is needed so that the product is more acceptable to the market. This program is done through several stages namely 1) Making soybeans into ready-to-drink; 2) Transfer of packing technology; 3) Product marketing and management aspects of soybean processing into beverages in ready-to-drink packaging as well as; and 4) Feasibility analysis of beverage production business made from soybean. Through IbM, training and development of soya bean processing technology is made into an economic commodity product in the form of beverages in ready-to-drink packaging, which can provide new economic alternatives in the community. After this program, the community service activity was conducted with the training and mentoring approach to the two partners, it was able to increase the quantity and quality of soybean beverage production where the yield of production increased almost twice from the original.

The availability of information and communication technology (ICT) has made it a lot of convenience in everything. An example is the existence of online trading transactions, for we can market these products online both through marketplaces and social media, we must-have products that are slightly different from the others. One way is to design your own product packaging that we will sell, and for example it can be started by making a product logo. This is the basis of community service activities, and this activity utilizes the creative side of partners so that they can create a design that will be packaged in the next stage in the form of merchandise. In this design training phase, partner participants were given the understanding to use vector-based graphic design applications, from creating product logos to digital advertising posters
