Some of the effects of child development that are not in accordance with their age can inhibit brain development. Therefore, the purpose of this service is to carry out counseling on growth and development in children under five age. This activity was held from September 2018 to January 2019, at the Sukasari Posyandu, Sarolangun District. Sasaran is a mother who has children aged 0-5 years. This activity consisted of giving counseling with power point media, leaflets, posters, and pre-post test questions and anthropometric measurements of toddlers. The output of this service activity are: (1) Media leaflets and posters of child development and; (2) Mother's behavior in monitoring child growth and development. The results of the activity showed that participants were able to answer questions related to growth material in children aged 0-5 years in the post-test stage, ie correct answers of ≥ 80%. Participants are also able to understand the material about child development related to good consumption patterns through discussion. Based on this activity, it is necessary to collaborate with health workers and cadres to motivate children under five to routinely monitor the growth of children under five to posyandu or the nearest health care facility.

Monitoring the development of early childhood is a family task, but not all families can carry out this task optimally. Busyness, lack of knowledge, and the socio-economic condition of the family are factors that do not support this effort. Therefore, monitoring children's growth is coordinated through the role of the community through the Posyandu program. Posyandu, as one of the community-based health efforts, has a vital role in providing convenience to the community in obtaining essential services. To achieve this goal requires the role of a Posyandu cadre who has the knowledge and skills in monitoring child growth and development. The method of activity is carried out by providing material for child development and practicum on how to assess and measure children's growth and development. The results of activities were measured through differences in the results of the pre-test and post-test, as well as the results of observations when cadres provided services during Posyandu implementation. The results of the activity showed that the training in monitoring the growth and development of children under five given to Posyandu cadres could increase the knowledge and skills of cadres in providing services at Posyandu related to monitoring the growth and development of children under five.

Background of research on mother's knowledge of toddlers in providing feeding schedules, especially snacks. Giving snacks that are not right on schedule will have an influence on the growth and development of infants. Through the Emotional Demontration method, eating schedule for snacking can be controlled. Emotional Demonstration is the provision of education not only through lectures but also through games so that the key messages conveyed can be remembered by mothers of toddlers in Posyandu V Mulyorejo Surabaya. The Emo Demo method is one solution to reduce the stunting rate. In 2017 the stunting rate in Indonesia reached 22.2%. Based on the results of the survey conducted through interviews with nutritionists, it was explained that there were 16 stunting toddlers in Posyandu V Surabaya. Quantitative Research Methodology, a quasi-experimental research design method with one group pretest posttest approach. The population in this study were all mothers of children under five in Posyandu V Mulyorejo Surabaya as many as 36 people, samples as many as 36 mothers of toddlers. With a total sampling technique. Analyze data with Paired T-test. The results showed the mean value of the pre test was 6.06, the mean value after the post test reached 8.16. While the significance value of p value = 0,000 with α = 0.05 through the Paired T-test. The conclusion is that there are differences in the knowledge of pre and post test among mothers of children under five in Posyandu V Mulyorejo Surabaya, p value = 0,000 with α = 0.05. Suggestions for health workers to continue to make improvements in practicing emotional demonstration to participants because it is very useful in increasing knowledge to prevent increased stunting rates.

Children are the nation's assets in the future. It can be imagined, how would the condition of Indonesia's human resources be in the future if many Indonesian children are currently suffering from stunting. The incidence of short children or commonly known as stunting is one of the nutritional problems experienced by toddlers in the world today. In 2017 22.2% or around 150.8 million children under five in the world were stunted. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the mentoring menu model on the growth and development of stunting children in Cinta Raja Village, East Langsa District. This type of research used in this research is quasi-experimental research (quasi experiment) with a pretest posttest design non equivalent control group design. In this study the researchers compared the two research groups with the number of respondents 34 children aged 24-60 months. There is a significant effect of menu assistance on the increase in the height of stunting of children under five in Cinta Raja Village, Langsa Timur District, Langsa City. there is a correlation between the increase in height before being given menu assistance (pretest) and after being given menu assistance (post test). It can be concluded that the increase in Height in the stunting and normal under-five group is significant. It is hoped that families who have children under five are able to provide a balanced nutrition family diet as long as the child is in a period of growth and development so as to prevent stunting.

Abstract Background Nurturing care interventions have the potential to promote health and development in early childhood. Amagugu Asakhula was designed to promote developmentally important dietary and movement behaviours among children of preschool age (3–5 years) in South Africa. An initial formative study in Cape Town found the intervention to be feasible and acceptable when delivered by community health workers (CHWs) linked to a community-based organisation. This study evaluated the delivery of the Amagugu Asakhula intervention by CHWs linked to a public sector primary health care facility in Soweto, as this mode of delivery could have more potential for sustainability and scalability. Methods A qualitative design was utilised to assess feasibility, acceptability, adoption, appropriateness, implementation, fidelity and context. CHWs (n = 14) delivered the intervention to caregivers (n = 23) of preschool-age children in Soweto over 6 weeks. Following the completion of the intervention, focus group discussions were held with CHWs and caregivers. Further data were obtained through observations, study records and key informant interviews (n = 5). Data were analysed using deductive thematic analysis guided by a process evaluation framework. Results The delivery of the Amagugu Asakhula intervention through CHWs linked to a primary health care facility in Soweto was not found to be feasible due to contextual challenges such as late payment of salaries influencing CHW performance and willingness to deliver the intervention. CHWs expressed dissatisfaction with their general working conditions and were thus reluctant to take on new tasks. Despite barriers to successful delivery, the intervention was well received by both CHWs and caregivers and was considered a good fit with the CHWs’ scope of work. Conclusions Based on these findings, delivery of the Amagugu Asakhula intervention is not recommended through public sector CHWs in South Africa. This feasibility study informs the optimisation of implementation and supports further testing of the intervention’s effectiveness when delivered by CHWs linked to community-based organisations. The present study further demonstrates how implementation challenges can be identified through qualitative feasibility studies and subsequently addressed prior to large-scale trials, avoiding the wasting of research and resources.
