s not it deplorable that in a country that tops in the entire world in using several social media sites does not utilize the same media in acquiring knowledge and skills? In Saudi Arabia, undergraduate students spend a significant amount of time on social media every day, but they are reluctant (or not motivated enough) to use the same media for educational purposes. This study was carried out on the undergraduate English majors of King Khalid University in Muhayil Asir in Saudi Arabia. In the English department, every student carries at least one smart phone with Internet connection, and they are found occupied with their phones on the campus, sometimes even in classrooms, but they are weak both in subject knowledge and skills of English language. The teachers-cum-researchers were baffled with students’ competence because regular users of Internet and social media are supposed to be updated with the subject knowledge as well as confident in using English language. The researchers designed an empirical study to explore students’ rationale of using the social media and their language preference. The study concludes with gloomy findings that students use the media mainly for entertainment and ineffective communication in English language. The worst fact is: they are not motivated enough to use the social media for educational purposes.

False claims disseminated on social media by extremists can convince ordinary people not just to sit in their armchairs and rage at the violence of one side or another but to leave their homes either to riot at the Capitol in Washington, DC, for example, or to sneak over international borders in order to join the so-called “Islamic State.” Governments' softer counterextremist policies may focus on messaging but tend to overlook the specific claims aimed at those vulnerable to radicalisation. Furthermore, general lack of trust in officialdom can undermine its messaging or even serve to bolster the extremist “us and them” narrative. This chapter suggests that, by harnessing their specialist information literacy knowledge and skills, librarians can build on their positive social capital and assume an active role in developing in their users the critical thinking and awareness necessary to identify and expose misleading extremist propaganda, thereby helping to make their local communities safer.

The development of SMEs and home industries in Indonesia is so rapid, considering that most of the business scope is in this sector. However, the development of these SMEs has not been accompanied by progress in infrastructure, good governance, knowledge, and skills, so that the improvement in the business performance of these SMEs tends to be stagnant. Besides, changes in people's consumption patterns in the industrial era 4.0 caused a shift in the shopping lifestyle from people who shop directly at outlets and malls, to people who prefer the online shop. If UKM does not seize this opportunity, then its existence will be eroded by the times. Therefore, SMEs must be able to be proactive and improve its competitiveness by mastering ICT technology. This technology, such as social media (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.) plays an essential role in the promotion and marketing efforts. The primary purpose is to show the impact of knowledge transfer between universities (tutors) and UKM Dewi-Dewi (as trainees). The method used is to compare the proportions of participants' answers before and after the training. The results obtained indicate an increase in understanding of E-commerce, which is 80% to 96% or double that before training was held. Therefore, there is a need for further assistance so that the benefits of E-commerce training can be felt.Keywords: Dewi-Dewi UKM, Training, E-Commerce

A quantitative method was used to measure the variable by using questionnaire given to 230 respondents given to university student near south-east Kalimantan. The gathered data is analyzed by using generalized structured component analysis. The finding in this research indicates that both perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of social media could affect individual intention to use personal transport. There are 26 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Srumbung Village registered at the village office. However, not all MSMEs run well. Most of the MSMEs players have limited knowledge and skills in using information technology. Meanwhile, information technology for MSMEs players is critical, especially since the emergence of the Covid-19 and the implementation of the PSBB (Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar) policy. The existence of MSMEs will be hampered or slumped if they do not utilize technology in their business. Therefore, this society's dedication aims to improve the knowledge and skills of MSMEs players on utilizing Facebook and Instagram as online marketing tools.
