The article provides a current regional specialization of agricultural production in the subjects of the Non-chernozem economic zone of the country and its socio-economic features happened by 2016. The special attention is paid to grain cultures, dairy and meat cattle breeding, pig breeding and poultry farming. It is predicted that dairy cattle, which ensures the employment of a significant number of workers in agricultural organizations and farms, remain a basic agricultural activity in rural life of Non-chernozem region, maintaining the productivity of cold regions. There are seven such regions having more or less favorable territories for agricultural production. It seems possible to cultivate full range of crops there. The calculation of the size of the sowing areas per one cattle head in the subjects of Nonchernozem region are considered in this paper. It has been established that the structure of sowing areas in agricultural organizations of the studied regions does not have significant differences compared to peasant farms. The exception is potatoes and vegetables, sowing areas of which are significantly higher in small forms of land use. With a low level of mechanization of agricultural production in small forms of management, (with the exception of few cultivated crops), the growth of production does not lead to increase of effectiveness. In the medium term, according to the authors estimation, the existing practice of concentrating the agricultural production in the territories with the most favorable agro-climatic, soil conditions and favorable position regarding consumer markets will be preserved.

In modern conditions of development of the agricultural economy, it is of great importance to ensure the economic security of agricultural activities in agricultural organizations. The economic security of agricultural activities is largely related to the efficiency of the use of material, labor, biological, land and financial resources in agricultural production, and also depends on the state of accounting, internal control and analysis of the facts of economic life in agricultural organizations. Well-organized accounting, internal control and analysis systems allow providing the economic security management system of agricultural activities with all the necessary information to form a mechanism in internal management to protect agriculture from external and internal hazards, threats and consequences of natural disasters. In this regard, organizational and methodological recommendations for assessment and forecasting are proposed.

In this article approaches to search for reserves of decrease in cost of agricultural production are considered. The methods of cost calculation of dairy cattle breeding products used at the studied enter-prise are analysed, short characteristic of the standard method offered by the Ministry of Agriculture is given, and calculations of alternative options are also carried out. Today creation of accounting of a production unit is very important so that not only weight units must be considered in it, but also the quali-tative structure of products must be reflected. Definition of qualitative characteristics and technological properties by production of milk which depend on use purposes can be an example. The raw materials consumption on a unit of production and its quality and also firmness of storage depends on technologi-cal properties of milk. At calculation of prime cost taking into account qualitative characteristics for cal-culation milk in terms of basic fat content undertakes. The method of calculation of prime cost consider-ing qualitative characteristics is the most expedient as prime cost of 1 c of milk unlike the operating tech-nique is lower. In the article analytical methods of reserves calculation for decrease in prime cost taking into account various factors are proved. The revealed reserves will allow an enterprise to expand its in-vestment opportunities in the future, they will give an additional incentive of modernization of the worn-out machinery and equipment in branches of agriculture.

The article, based on a comprehensive analysis of regulations, doctrinal approaches and case law, substantiates the understanding of the term "agriculture" in terms of purpose (use) of land. Direct analysis of regulations revealed that agricultural land is land provided for agricultural production, agricultural research and training activities, location of relevant production infrastructure, including infrastructure of wholesale markets for agricultural products, or intended for these purposes. In turn, the purpose of the land is the permissible limits of land use by citizens and legal entities (acquirers of such a right) established by law and specified by the relevant body (which transfers such land into ownership or use). The basis for determining the purpose of the land is its belonging to the appropriate category. The main criterion, for example, to distinguish agricultural production (agricultural activity) from other activities is the use of agricultural land as the main (basic) means of production. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the term "agriculture" can be understood in its broad and narrow sense. In a broad sense, the term "agriculture" is the use of land for commercial agricultural production, farming, personal farming, subsidiary agriculture, individual and collective gardening, haymaking and cattle grazing, for research and training purposes, provision of services in agriculture, placement of infrastructure of wholesale markets for agricultural products, as well as other activities on agricultural land, depending on the activities provided by law and the constituent documents of the economic entity. In a narrow sense – this is the purpose of agricultural land. The understanding of the term "agriculture" as the purpose of agricultural land is used by the court in resolving disputes.

The paper discusses Varro’s texts about agriculture included in the Byzantine encyclopedia on agriculture by the redactor. The paper gives a historical overview of the use of Varro’s texts from the end of the first century BC to the middle of the tenth century. The texts refer to the following topics: when and in what month should certain agricultural crops be grown, how can the land be cultivated, instructions for the production of grapes, wine, olives and artichokes, feathered fowls and cattle breeding and other animals. Based on centuries of using Varro’s texts on agriculture, there is an impression that these texts had great importance for the development of agricultural production not only in Rome but also the Byzantine Empire.

The land plays an important role in the social and economic life of the populations of all of the world in general and in the rural world in particular in such a way that it constitutes the essential support of every agricultural activity. The purpose of this article is to study the influence of the access to land on the agricultural production in the communes of Dassa-Zoumé and Glazoué. From a sample of 279 farm households, the study of the influence of land access on the agricultural production in the communes of Dassa-Zoumé and Glazoué was made using the questionnaire sent to farmers and CARDER/Zou authorities. In order to collect reliable information, a presurvey was carried out at first, followed by an individual interview, a focus group and a MARP ( Active Participatory Research Method). Similarly, the SWOT analyses model was used and the Ruthenberg coefficient was calculated to better appreciate the cropping system used in both communities. At the end of the analyses, we can notice that in the communes of DassaZoumé and Glazoué, inheritance remains the main modes of access to land with 82,9%, followed by ‘’donation’’with5,1%, then the borrowingwith4,3% and the collective appropriation(2,6%), renting(1,7%), sharecropping(1,7%) and the purchase(1,7%). OF these different modes of access, the inheritance is the most privileged while renting, sharecropping and buying constitute binding modes. These different modes of access determine the different uses that can be made of rural land and constitute either a constraint or an asset for agricultural production.

In market conditions, one of the key issues of management is the effective use of available natural resources. In agricultural production, these are the problems of using land resources. An urgent task is the rational use of pasture resources according to the seasons of the year for the management of pasture cattle breeding. The article considers the reflection in geographical names of pasture names and terms used in traditional animal husbandry, which provide important information about the features of the landscape. In addition, the regularities of the use of natural conditions by the ethnic group that inhabited this territory, the spatial distribution of pasture terms characteristic ofa particular landscape are determined.

Suction caissons used as mooring anchors for offshore structures can, depending on design concept, be subjected to pullout forces ranging from nearly vertical for tension leg platforms, to intermediate inclination angles for taut mooring systems, to nearly horizontal for catenary moored systems. Hence, the ability to understand and predict suction anchor pullout resistance for a full range of load orientations is becoming of increasing importance. A previous paper by the authors presents a plastic limit analysis for estimating the load capacity of suction anchors over a full range of load inclination ranging from horizontal to vertical. The model was capable of predicting load capacity for various load attachment (padeye) depths, caisson aspect ratios, and soil undrained strength profiles that vary linearly with depth. Loading conditions are assumed to be undrained; therefore, a purely cohesive soil is assumed. The original analysis assumed full adhesion on the boundaries of the caisson; i.e., a skin resistance coefficient α equal to unity. However, actual values of this coefficient are less than unity, with specific values varying according to soil conditions and the method of caisson installation. To overcome the limitation of the original model, this paper presents a modified formulation that allows a skin resistance less than unity. The modified formulation develops an interaction relationship between vertical and horizontal soil resistance on the sides of the caisson that is applicable for any skin resistance conditions ranging from no to full adhesion.
