The purpose of this development research is to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of using Powtoon animation learning media for flat-sided geometry. The development model used is the ADDIE model. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII-2 MTsS Syamsuddhuha (junior high religious school). The percentage results of product assessment by media experts are 96% in the very feasible category, the percentage result of product assessment by material experts is 92% in the very feasible category, and the percentage result of product assessment by 10 small group students is 94% in the very feasible category. Based on the results of the product assessment by all validators who stated that it was very feasible, the Powtoon animation learning media developed had meet the criteria for use for students. The effectiveness of using the product can be seen from the results of the comparison of the students' average pretest and posttest scores. The resulting product is effective in increasing the understanding of mathematical concepts, as evidenced by the average pretest score of 43,44, an increase in the posttest of 84,27, and the N-Gain value of 0,72 in the high category. It can be concluded that Powtoon animation learning media is feasible and effective to be used in improving the understanding of mathematical concepts.

Daylight efficiency correlates to window design. Guidelines recommend a 20 per cent window-to-floor ratio (WFR) at 900mm windowsill height, where acceptable 300 lx to 500 lx measured at 900mm working plane height.  However, Islamic religious schools use a 300mm height table known as ‘rehal’. Studies neglect the difference in required working plane height that effect window design and the illuminance level. A study was established to propose Syaheeza’s Daylight Rule of Thumb (DRT) for Islamic religious schools. This paper aims to highlight the reliability of the methodology framework used in Syaheeza’s DRT, such as surveys, Arabic handwriting performance assessment and computer simulations. Abstract The present paper sheds light on the psychological structure of Simha Bin Zion’s A Broken Soul. After reviewing the biography of the storyteller, it is clear that the hero of the rebellious character in the story of (A Broken Soul) is the writer himself. The storyteller directly begins to depict his psychological sufferings in his childhood days. He tells a story full of sadness and refusal of the neglect he suffered in his childhood. It is obvious that the early five years of Samha bin Zion’s life is considered a period of conflict that participated in the formation of his individual identity. The story represents an outlet for a hidden secret world buried under the layers of his consciousness. It deals with the dark and dark side of the life of a Jewish boy in the Diaspora, and the tragic existence full of restrictions represented by the cruelty of the strict educational system in Al-Haidar; (the Jewish religious school) where Samha bin Zion was a neglected child and a victim of the father's control at home and the teacher in school. The aim behind such a rigid way of education is to bring him to the inelastic Jewish conventions. At his present stage of contemplation and after a long search for his true self, the writer reveals the frustration and instability he suffered.

Professor Takeshi Kohno, from Toyo Eiwa University in Japan, has a particular interest in how an idea of Salafism can travel to South East Asia and become an important part of lives of people far from its origin. Kohno is leading a project that seeks to analyse how Salafism turns into social movement and how this social movement is institutionalised in education institutions. In particular, he along with the team of researchers in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines are analysing the dissemination processes of Salafism into school system in these countries. By identifying transformational agents such as the state and its bureaucrats as well as religious teachers, Kohno and his colleagues hope to gain insight into this religious school of thought and how it has become established in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Our research focuses on school buildings constructed in the first decade of Roma Capitale, between the end of the nineteenth and the beginning of twentieth century. The buildings belonged to two categories: 1) edifices readapted as schools (former convents and private dwellings); 2) newly built constructions. School buildings are studied considering their architectural layout, their location within the urban plan, their décor and their symbolic meaning in relation to topography and toponymy. The study method uses interpretation of spaces and places as educational objects that exert an extraordinary influence on the collective imagination. The sources used are: 1) archive documents (Archivio Capitolino) relating to projects and technical relations of architects and engineers; 2) legal documents: laws, measurements, bulletins, ministerial reports on school buildings; 3) publications that document the shaping of public opinion on the importance of endowing the capital with a number of representative and efficient educational sites. The work highlights three main historical trends: 1) the emergenc of laws supporting compulsory education (Casati law, Coppino law) and the social architectural initiatives undertaken in Rome’s poorest and most deprived neighborhoods (Trastevere, Suburra) or in newly built ones for the ascending middle class (Castro Pretorio); 2) the contradiction between rhetoric regarding public educational sites and the scarcity of financial backing for the management of municipal public education  and the subsequent, perennial lack of new schooling sites; 3) competition with contemporary religious school architecture, which in comparison with that of public and secular schools was always at the vanguard.
