We examine the relationship between cognitive ability and childbearing patterns in contemporary Sweden using administrative register data. The topic has a long history in the social sciences and has been the topic of a large number of studies, many reporting a negative gradient between intelligence and fertility. We link fertility histories to military conscription tests with intelligence scores for all Swedish men born 1951–1967. We find a positive relationship between intelligence scores and fertility, and this pattern is consistent across the cohorts we study. The relationship is most pronounced for the transition to a first child, and men with the lowest categories of IQ scores have the fewest children. Using fixed effects models, we additionally control for all factors that are shared by siblings, and after such adjustments, we find a stronger positive relationship between IQ and fertility. Furthermore, we find a positive gradient within groups at different levels of education. Compositional differences of this kind are therefore not responsible for the positive gradient we observe—instead, the relationship is even stronger after controlling for both educational careers and parental background factors. In our models where we compare brothers to one another, we find that, relative to men with IQ 100, the group with the lowest category of cognitive ability have 0.56 fewer children, and men with the highest category have 0.09 more children.

The purpose of this paper is to study the relationship between the environmental and financial performance of Corporates. For the environmental awareness of people, the social responsibility of companies and the environmental policies and laws of government, more and more companies would adopt the system of environmental accounting, and then they would disclosure their environmental performances. From the review of literature and the statistics results on the financial and environmental performances of listed companies which had adopted the environmental accounting system in Taiwan, the results are: 1.the adopting on the system of environmental accounting might make the corporations’ financial performances worse, but not significantly make corporations’ environmental performances better. 2. Kata Kunci : Konformitas, Teman Sebaya, Perilaku Menyontek Cheating behavior among students is no longer a surprising phenomenon. There are many things that make a person cheat, one of which is due to the influence of the social environment, especially peers or peer conformity. The objective of this study was to find out the relationship between peer conformity and cheating behavior. The population of this study was 302 students while the samples were all students of class VII, a total of 84 students. The method used in the study was the saturated sampling. In this study, the researcher used the whole member of class VII as the samples due to the limited number of students that could be used as the samples. The instruments were two questionnaires, the peer conformity questionnaire and the cheating behavior questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Karl Pearson product moment correlation. Before conducting the correlation test, the normality test was first carried out. The results of the normality test showed that the data obtained were normally distributed with a significance value greater than 0.05 in peer conformity and cheating behavior of 0.200 and 0.211, respectively. The result of correlation analysis using 84 subjects was 0.579 with p> 0.05. Therefore, this study proved that there was a fairly strong positive relationship between the variables of peer conformity and cheating behavior. Keywords: Conformity, peers, cheating behavior

A total of 101 university students completed the full NEO-PI-R ( Costa & McCrae, 1992 ), assessing the five super-traits (domains) and 30 primary traits (facets), followed by four different cognitive ability tests. Two months later (before receiving feedback on their psychometric scores), they had estimated their own scores on all these variables (personality traits and ability tests), as well as that of a known friend. Results at the Big Five super-factor (domain) level indicated that participants could significantly predict/estimate all their own big five scores, particularly Neuroticism (r = .60). Correlations between estimates of their own intelligence scores and test-derived scores ranged from r = .51 to r = .59. They were, as predicted, much less successful in predicting their friend's scores. At the primary factor (facet) level, participants seemed best at predicting their six Neuroticism scores and less good predicting their six Agreeableness scores. A series of regressions looked at the extent to which self-estimated versus actual (test-derived) Big Five trait scores predicted self-estimated and actual intelligence on each of the four test scores. Self-estimated Conscientiousness significantly predicted various intelligence scores. Stable Open Introverts tended to give themselves higher self-estimates. The possible origins of academic hubris and humility are discussed.

The social worker’s first task with clients is to develop a positive relationship, but as the intervention progresses he or she faces the ongoing challenge of sustaining that relationship so that the client can experience a positive environment for working toward his or her goals. As with all relationships, however, despite the practitioner’s best efforts, conflicts and misunderstandings may develop between the two parties that can threaten their bond and possibly undermine the work being done. The term relationship rupture refers to any event in direct practice that contributes to a deterioration in the social worker/client relationship once it has been positively established. The purpose of this chapter is to help social workers to become more skillful in identifying and repairing ruptures so that the relationship can resume in a productive direction.
