Objectives: To determine the case fatality rate of COVID-19 by evaluating the data of Patients died due to COVID-19. Materials and Methods: A total of 243 patients with PCR done from the government designated Public health research laboratory of Khyber Medical University were included in a cross sectional comparative study. Chi-square test, risk analysis, probability testing and survival analysis using Kaplan Meir test was done on data sheet prepared in SPPS version 25 in accordance with the objectives of the study. Results: Out of total 243 patients, 165 (67.90%) were negative by PCR testing and 78 (32.09%) were COVID-19 positive. The Mean age with SD was 36+17 years. Out of total 178 (73.3%) were males and 65 (26.7%) were females. 34 (13.99%) had age more than 55 years, where 4/5 (80%) of the deaths were recorded. The relationship of an increase in age with rate of mortality was statistically significant (p=0.001). The over all probability of death in our population in age more than 55 years is 24 times higher (OR=24,95CI: 2.6-221.24) with relative risk of 1.1 (rr=1.11, 95CI:1-1.24). Mortality rate was 6.41%. A significant correlation of mortality with case positivity (p=0.003) with relative risk of 1.06 (rr=1.06, 95CI: 1.008-1.13). Three out of 5 of the COVID-19 positive deceased had cardiac diseases and 2/5 had respiratory disease/viral pneumonia. Using Kaplan Meir test, the survival graphs of COVID positive vs COVID negative cases had similar pattern that shows the mortality rate in the positive cases was not solely due to COVID-19, but has aggravated the pre-existing illness to cause death. Conclusion: The mortality rate was 6.41%, more in age>55 years (80%) and almost all the deceased had chronic co-morbid conditions like CAD, CCF and COPD at time of presentation. COVID-19 is not the sole killer, it contributes killing in immune-deficient patients.

The major objective of this study was to measure the association between various interventions and Chitral Gole National Park (CGNP) role in preservation of bio-diversity and socio-economic uplift. A sample size of 346 respondents was randomly selected from total population of 3326 from the 4 selected villages on the basis of close proximity. A conceptual framework including dependent variable social development and independent variable tourism development were taken. The data were analyzed through frequency and percentage distribution. Moreover, Chi-square test was applied to know the relationship between dependent and independent variables at bi-variate level. In bi-variate analysis a highly significant (P=0.000) relation was found between CGNP is main source of promoting tourism in Chitral, tourists do any impacts upon local community in terms of increased business activities, local culture is safeguarded despite influx of tourists in the area, tourism produced employment opportunities, and social development. Qualitative data supported the empirical findings, however tourism brings economic opportunities at micro and macro level, but unfortunately CGNP is not as satisfactory regarding generating income since its establishment. The government should ensure to make such polices pertaining to the entrance fee, provides accommodation services on payment to the tourists and to reserve the entrance fee or any other form of taxes to ensure CGNP to spend on self-sustaining basis by ensuring refinement in the procedures as well.

Kata Kunci : ASI, Ruang LaktasiFACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE USE OF LAKTATION ROOM IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE GUNUNG PATI  SEMARANGABSTRACTBreastfeeding is a physiological process to provide nutrition to the baby. Breast milk is the ideal nutrition for babies to optimally support the health, growth and development of babies. Breast milk has a complete energy and nutritional composition for infant growth and development, especially early in life. In the industrialization era of breastfeeding activity has decreased significantly. A working mother is the reason not to breastfeed. This condition causes the decreasing number of nursing mothers in Indonesia in the last 5 years. The achievement of low breastfeeding rates has affected the coverage rate of exclusive breastfeeding in 2014 to only about 27.5%. Therefore the Indonesian government considers it necessary to improve the exclusive breastfeeding program by the issuance of Government Regulation No. 33 of 2012 on Exclusive Breastfeeding. The Government has determined that every provider of health facilities and workplaces and public place providers should provide lactation chambers in accordance with established provisions and standard procedures. The type of research used is explanatory research, which aims to test a hypothesis of the relationship between variables. The approach using cross sectional design with a sample of 99 people. Data analysis using univariable and bivariable analysis. The result of chi square test of age factor with Lactation Space utilization got p value 0,06 so there is no correlation between age factor with Lactation Room utilization whereas chi square test of education factor, perception and motivation with Lactation space utilization got p value 0,05 So there is a relationship between educational factors, perceptions and motivation with the utilization of Lactation Space. The suggestion is to socialize the utilization of lactation space. Keywords: Breast milk, Lactation Room

Background. Consumption of snacks in between the regular meals is a poor snacking behaviour. It is an established risk factor for several lifestyle-related disorders and has long-term effects among the younger individuals. Objectives. To study the snacking behaviour and to assess their determinants among college-going students. Methods. This cross-sectional study was conducted among 865 college-going students in Mangaluru. Data were collected using a pretested pro forma that was coded and analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 11.5. The chi-square test and random-effect logistic regression analyses were used. Results. Overall, there were 52.4% females and 47.6% males, and 76.8% of them were aged <20 years. More than half of the participants (54.3%) had the habit of snacking in between regular meals. Among them, a large proportion (78.7%) did not have any specific timings for snacking. Also, 51.1% of the students were snacking while watching TV, and 31.9% of them snacked while studying. Breakfast was the most commonly skipped meal (26.2%); of those missing the breakfast regularly, 123 (71.9%) had poor snacking behaviour. A significantly larger proportion of males had a higher frequency of snacking per day (69.3% versus 57.2%, p<0.0001) and consumed aerated drinks more frequently (22.6% versus 15.8%, p=0.011), skipped meals more often (58.6% versus 50.6%, p=0.022), and preferred adding fruits in snacks (78.1% versus 69.4%, p=0.005). Snacking frequency was proportionately higher among students of private colleges (73.6%) than that in the government colleges (55.1%). Participants from nonscience stream, nonvegetarians, and those with a tendency to skip the regular meals had significantly higher levels of poor snacking behaviour. Conclusions. The study population had a high level of poor snacking behaviour. Appropriate measures are needed among younger people to follow fixed eating patterns and avoid skipping of regular meals.

ABSTRACT Background: Woman who become mother have gone through various life cycles, from pregnancy till childbirth. During this postpartum period, almost all mothers also breastfeed their babies. The process of restoring the body health after childbirth along with caring for the baby often leaves the mother physically and psychologically exhausted. So many mothers cannot provide exclusive breastfeeding. This is where the husband’s role is very important to provide support to the mother. This study aimed to analyze the influence husband’s role on the mother’s interest in giving exclusive breastfeeding. Subjects and Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted for 2 months on 46 postpartum mothers. This study conducted in Wonokromo, Surabaya, in 2020. The independent variable was the husband’s role and the dependent variable was the mother’s interest in giving exclusive breastfeeding. The data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Chi Square test. Results: The results showed that out of 21 (57.14%) mothers who had less husband’s role, most had a low interest in giving exclusive breastfeeding. Of the 25 mothers who have a good husband’s role, almost all (92%) have a high interest in exclusive breastfeeding (p< 0.001), and it was statistically significant. Conclusion: The better husband’s role in supporting his wife, the higher the mother’s interest in giving exclusive breastfeeding. BACKGROUND: In Indonesia, a new behavior has been introduced in the community to prevent COVID-19 transmission following 3 months of the COVID-19 outbreak. The Ministry of Health, Republic of Indonesia, names this new concept as “the adaptation of new behavior.” However, preventive measures and health protocols encouraged by the government have not yet yielded a significant impact on reducing the COVID-19 positivity rate. This unsuccessful outcome indicates that infective circulation is still occurring caused by incompliant to the health protocol. AIM: This study aimed to measure community perceptions against COVID-19 at the individual level. METHODS: A cross-sectional study with a total of 1687 respondents was performed. Questionnaires distributed thru sharing online links which contain questions on perception of vulnerability and severity of COVID-19. Chi-square test used in analysis to determine the difference in perception with respondents’ behavior. RESULTS: A total of 81.7% of respondents who had a perception of “susceptible to contract” performed behavior suited to recommendations and 81.2% study population had a perception of “COVID-19 is severe” executed behavior suited to the recommendation. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated the establishment of government recommendations for COVID-19 infection did not guarantee the actual health practice/behavior in the community. The existing misconception of the perspective of seriousness/severity and susceptibility would prevent the country from flattening the curve.
