LEVEL SOCIAL SELF CONCEPT AND IMPLICATION IN GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING

Teenager consider themselves based on the perception others and one of the element which affecting the maturation in self concept is how the assessment and social environment revenue toward it self .This study purpose to describe the self concept of teens and the implications in guidance and counseling .The research type descriptive quantitative methods. The Research was done to teenagers of simple  orphanage in  bengkulu with a population about 103 teenagers .The total of the  research about 82 survey youth to the sample used purposive sampling techniqul  instrument was used  the closed of  scale likert model  with validity 0.873 , reliability ( 0,931 self concept ) .The findings of this research shows that: ( 1 ) self concept as of teens tend to be low category. (2)  implications finding for service counseling guidance the basic of arranging the guidance counseling program service which can formed  and improved the self concept of teens positively.

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui efektivitas metode dakwah mauidzah al-hasanah untuk meningkatkan konsep diri siswa MTsN model Palopo. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif dan desain penelitian one group pretest postest. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perubahan self-concept siswa Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Model Palopo pada setiap subjek penelitian dan terjadi perubahan peningkatan self-concept siswa yang cukup bervariasi. Secara umum metode dakwan Mauidzah al-hasanah memberikan dampak terhadap self-concept siswa. Siswa memiliki konsep diri yang lebih baik setelah diberikan intervensi. Guru dan Konselor diharapkan mampu menfasilitasi siswa dalam memahami dan mengerti arti pentingnya self-concept untuk siswa sehingga mereka mampu menjalani hidup sesuai dengan konsep diri yang baik. The research objective was to determine the effectiveness of the method of proselytizing mauidzah al-hasanah to improve the self-concept of MTsN Palopo model students. The research was conducted using quantitative methods and one group pretest-posttest research design. This study's results indicate a change in the self-concept of students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Palopo Model on each research subject, and there is a change in the increase in student self-concept, which is quite varied. In general, the Mauidzah al-hasanah dakwah method has an impact on students' self-concept. Students have a better self-concept after being given the intervention. Teachers and counselors are expected to facilitate students in understanding and understanding the importance of self-concept for students to live life by good self-concepts.

This research has purpose to know implemnetasi guidance and counseling program in Curriculum 2013. This research is classified as descriptive qualitative research by using pedagogical, psychological, and sociological approach. Implementation of research conducted at SMAN 4 Watampone Kab. Bone. The subjects of the study consisted of 1 leader and 4 counseling and guidance teachers using purposive sampling samples whose number could occasionally increase by using snowball sampling in line with the development of research data needs. Implementation of guidance and counseling in Curriculum 2013 at SMAN 4 Watampone shows that the interest of learners in Curriculum 2013 become a thing of counseling and counseling in various dimensions ranging from philosophy framework to its technical implementation.Keywords: Bimbingan dan konseling dalam kurikulum 2013.

The goal of the current research is to identify the Self-Concept for children according to the age of (5, 6, and 7 years). These variable1 can be shown as follow:  A - Age (5, 6, and 7) years .  B - Gender (male - female)       The present study shows that there is no statistically significant differences between the averages of the age of children (5, 6, and 7) years in self-concept, and sex variable (male - female) .The research sample consists of (230) boys and girls, they have been selected by class style randomly from kindergarten and elementary schools affiliated to Al Rusafa in the province of Baghdad.      For the purpose of achieving the objectives of the research ,the researchers formulaes  a suitable instrument for the research sample, so the researcher uses a tool to measure the evolution of self-concept in children aged (5, 6 and 7) years, it was rely on the theory of Carl Rogers and some previous studies on this concept, which was to reach for five dimensions to measure self-concept that includes ( Physical-self dimension, mental-self dimension, social-self dimension, emotional-self dimension, moral-self dimension) .  This tool consists of (42) paragraph, that reflects the truth of virtual scale, discrimination paragraphs,  in addition it is distinguishing the relationship between the paragraph degree with the total degree of the standard, and the link of the paragraph degree with the area degree, and it has been verified the stability of the standard by re-testing it, which was (0.75), and coefficient of Alvacrobach, in order to calculate the stability of (internal consistency) for the standard which was (0.84), which makes the standard ready for the final application.

Abstact. Yogyakarta gets an emergency label by the media. Initially klitih has a positive meaning but there is a shift in meaning to negative. This klitih action caused social upheaval because this action claimed lives. Individual behavior is determined by self-concept that is dynamic and moves according to the factors that influence it. Therefore, this study discusses the self-concept of young perpetrators of klitih in the in Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak Wonosari Yogyakarta and the factors that influence it. This research uses a qualitative method with a symbolic interaction approach. The subjects in this study were three teenagers who had done clits and is in LPKA Wonosari Yogyakarta, with sampling using a purposive sampling technique. The results showed that all three subjects had positive self-concepts after being in LPKA. Factors that influence self-concept are the roles of parents, peers, community and learning outcomes.Keywords: Self-concept, adolescent, klitihAbstrak. Yogyakarta mendapatkan label darurat klitih oleh media masa. Awalnya klitih memiliki makna positif namun terjadi pergeseran makna menjadi negatif. Aksi klitih ini menimbulkan kegaduhan sosial dikarenakan aksi ini memakan korban nyawa. Perilaku individu ditentukan oleh konsep diri yang bersifat dinamis dan bergerak sesuai dengan faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini membahas tentang konsep diri remaja pelaku klitih di Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak Wonosari Yogyakarta dan faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Peneltian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan interaksi simbolik. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah tiga orang berusia remaja yang pernah melakukan klitih dan berada di Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Wonosari Yogyakarta, dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian  menunjukkan bahwa ketiga subjek memiliki konsep diri yang psoitif setelah berada di LPKA. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi konsep diri adalah peran orang tua, teman sebaya, masyarakat dan hasil belajar.Kata kunci: Konsep diri, remaja, klitih

This research aims to find out the influence of self-concepts towards bullying behavior among college student in “X” University. The dependent variable in this study was bullying and independent variable in this study was the self concept.This research uses quantitative methods, data were obtained by using a questionnaire. William h. Fitts (1965), whereas the scale of bullying refers to the theory of Participant Questionnaire (PRQ) Role of Salmivalli (1996). Data processing using Rasch modeling with the help of winstep version 3.73 and hypothesis test using the SPSS version 16.0. The participants of this research were 71 college students in “X” University. This research using a nonprobability sampling. The results of this research show that there was negative influences between self-concept toward bulying behavior of 23% and the remaining 77% influenced by other factors.

<p><em>The condition of children in orphanages who experience psychological pressure because they have to enter the new environment and new habits and away from their families causes them to have a negative self-concept. Negative self-concepts will form despicable attitudes and behaviors that will inhibit their physical and mental growth and development. Therefore, efforts are needed to restore their psychological with personal-social guidance and counseling so that children have a positive self-concept.  The purpose of this study is to analyze the social-personal guidance and counseling program at Ar-Rahmah Orphanage in making teenage self-concepts. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. The results shows that: personal-social guidance and counseling program at the Ar-Rahmah Orphanage had not yet been found in a structured and systematic written form. The form of activities of the personal-social guidance and counseling program at the orphanage consists of basic services and responsive services. Basic services include recitation, division of duty picks, muhadarah, learning English, habituation in worship and learning to knit. The form of responsive services is a face-to-face meeting between caregivers and orphanage children once a week and provides guidance for children who have problems</em>.</p>

The purpose of this investigation was to find out the significant relationship between Self-concept and achievement motivation of high school students and also tried to measure the self-concept and achievement motivation in relation to gender. For the purpose of the present study 400 (200 boys, 200 girls) students of high school were selected randomly from four different schools of Aligarh (UP) within the age range of 16-17 years. To assess the self concept of high school students Self-Concept Questionnaire developed by Dr. R. K. Saraswat (1984) was used which provides six dimensions viz. physical, social, intellectual, moral, educational, and temperamental as well as a total self-concept score. The achievement motivation of high school students was measured by the Achievement Motivation (n-Ach) Scale developed by Dr. Pratibha Deo and Asha Mohan (1985). Pearson’s product moment co-efficient correlation was applied to investigate the relationship between self-concept and achievement motivation; t-test was applied to see the differences between mean scores of girls and boys on self-concept and achievement motivation. One of the findings of the study showed a significant positive correlation existed between self concept and achievement motivation of high school students. Another finding of the study revealed that there was no significant gender differences existed on total self-concept, physical self-concept, intellectual self-concept, educational self-concept and temperamental self-concept. Furthermore it was found that girls and boys differed significantly on social self-concept and moral self-concept.

Abstract The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship of self-concept and motivation to buy whitening products among girls.Subjects in this study were young woman using cosmetic whitening facial at the University Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa Yogyakarta. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with the Product Moment Correlation analysis method.The results of the self-concept of variable data with the motivation to buy whitening products shows the value of (r) 0.725 with P = 0.000 (P <0.01). Based on the results of the analysis can be stated that the hypothesis is accepted. This means that self control variables contribute effectively to the motivation to buy whitening products by 52.5% and 47.5%. Self-concept is an opinion, feeling or perception of someone about his/herself that is related to the physical appearance, social, emotional, moral, and cognitive. This research is based on the visual impairment people who judge themselves in negative way. This research uses quantitative method with descriptive approach. The subject of this research is 50 visual impairment people which consist of 30 blind people, and 20 low vision people. The instrument of this research is questionnaire. The result of this research shows that the self-concept of all of those visual impairment people are in the medium category. It is expected to all of guidance and counseling teachers to give their service based on the need of those people for keeping their self-concept good and helping to develop their self-concept in the positive way.

Children with deaf have a disability in language and communication because they cannot hear and understand their environment, so that is not uncommon for people around them to assume that children with deaf cannot live in the social environment. This matter shows the community to deaf children where it can affect children's self-concept with the deaf. This research aims to analyze the correlations between social support and self-concept in children with the deaf. A cross-sectional study was used to examine 51 children with deaf 7 – 12 years selected with a convenience sampling method. The questionnaire consisted of identity data used to measure participant characteristics. Social Support Questionnaire for children (SSQC) was used to measure social support and the Self-Description Questionnaire to measure self-concept. The Chi-Square test is used to answer the objectives of this study. From 51 respondents, 44 (86.3%) deaf children received good social support, with the most social support obtained from 36 friends (70.6%) and siblings 36 (70.6%). Of the five components of social support, only social support from friends and siblings most resulted in low-deaf children's self-concept. There was a relationship between social support and the self-concept of deaf children (Z = 1.833; p-value = 0.034). Support from various sources is needed for deaf children to develop self-concept in their social life. Therefore, the child's social environment needs to provide adequate social support for developing an excellent deaf child's self-concept.
