The meaning of the term integration is coordination of different activities. Over the years, the subjects under the curriculum for the under graduate's students was taught separately. The study was planned to integrate three subjects namely Medical Surgical Nursing, Pathology and Pharmacology together for better understanding and relevant learning. The research approach for this study was quantitative research approach. A Pre experimental Single group pretest posttest design was used. Total 30 students were enrolled in the study. Pretest was conducted followed by introducing integrated teaching module and Posttest after the completion of the Module. Opinionnaire was obtained from the participants. Result was analyzed using inferential statistics. The calculated t value 6.07 is greater than the table t value of 2.756 which is statistically signicant at p value <0.001. This indicates that the integrated teaching can be used to improve the cognitive domain of the students.

ABSTRACTBackground: Mobile Applications are being developed at a rapid speed and are intensively used by students. It can help to achieve better performance in organizing, managing, and monitoring classroom activities.Aims and objectives: Present study aimedto assess and compare the knowledge and practice regarding FBNC among nursing students in MBL group and MABL group before and after the administration of MBL and MABL. The conceptual framework of the study was based on CIPP model by Stufflebeam.Methods: A Quantitative research approach with quasi-experimental and  non-equivalent controlgroup pre–test post–test design. The study was conducted at two nursing colleges of Ambala, Haryana. A total of 70 B.Sc. Nursing 3rd Year students, randomly allocated to 2 groups i.e. 35 in MBL and 35 in MABL. The tool used for the study consisted of structured knowledge questionnaire and observational check list was used to assess knowledge and practices by OSCE method of nursing students regarding FBNC. Data collection was done in January, 2017. The obtained data was analyzed and interpreted in terms of objectives and researchResults: Findingsof the study indicate that revealed that mean post- test knowledge and practices score in MBL group (21.4 ±0.89) and in MABL group (22.4 ± 0.54) was significantly higher than pre-test knowledge score in MBL group (14.6±15.0) and in MABL group (16.2±17.0). Also, the mean post-test practice score in MBL group (38.1±1.91) and in MABL group (38.9± 1.20) was significantly higher than pre-test practicescore in MBL (20.4 ± 3.70) as well as in MABL group (20.5 ± 4.26). Mild positive significant relationship (r=0.03) was found between post test score of knowledge and practicesConclusion: MABL was more effective in developing the practices of nursing students regarding FBNC than MBL.

Beberapa studi melaporkan, hal lain yang mempengaruhi kolaborasi tersebut adalah self-efficacy dari mahasiswa. Untuk membentuk self efficacy yang baik diperlukan kajian mengenai kesiapan dan persepsi mahasiswa terkait mePengenalan kolaborasi antar professional kesehatan penting dilakukan sejak dini melalui pendidikan dengan model interprofessional education (IPE). Beberapa studi melaporkan, hal lain yang mempengaruhi kolaborasi tersebut adalah self-efficacy dari mahasiswa. Pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis deskriptif non-eksperimental dan rancangan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian adalah 100 mahasiswa menggunakan purposive sample yaitu mahasiswa yang telah mengikuti SGD LBM Jiwa dengan lengkap. Alat ukur menggunakan kuisioner SPICES untuk mengukur persepsi dan RIPLS untuk kesiapan. Analisa univariat menggunakan distribusi frekuensi untuk tingkat persepsi dan kesiapan IPE dengan skala ordinal. Studi ini menemukan bahwa 84% persepsi mahasiswa keperawatan terhadap IPE adalah baik dan mahasiswa 85% berada dalam kondisi siap pada tahap akademik. Introduction: Leukaemia is a blood cancer which affect the bone marrow. The cells of leukaemia or abnormal cells continue to grow and divide, resulting in the normal blood cells being crowded out. Thus, planned teaching on leukaemia management among patients with leukaemia would improve their health and mold them into a healthy quality of life. Aim: To determine the effectiveness of planned teaching program on management of leukaemia among leukaemia patients. Materials and Methods: The interventional one group pre-test and post-test study design with a Quantitative research approach was used. The present study was carried out in selected hospitals of Nagpur from January 2017 to March 2017. The sample size was 60. Validated pre-tested pre-designed structured questionnaires were used. Data collected were entered into the Microsoft Excel sheet. The statistical analysis was done using SPSS software. Frequencies and percentages were presented for categorical variables. Reliability analysis was done by the Guttman split-half coefficient and was found to be 0.90. Results: The pre-test findings show that 23 (38.33%) had a poor level of knowledge score, 31 (51.67%) had average knowledge and 06 (10%) of them had good knowledge and no one of them had found a very good level of knowledge. After planned teaching in the post-test, 12 (20%) had a good knowledge score and 48 (80%) had very good knowledge, showing an increase in the knowledge score, post-test. The Mean score value of the pre-test was 07.57 and the post-test was 21.13 (p-value is 0.001), Hence it indicates that planned teaching was effective. There was a significant association between knowledge scores of leukaemia patients with respect to education of leukaemia patients (p-value 0.014 i.e. <0.05) and area of residence (p-value 0.047 i.e. <0.05). Conclusion: The study showed that the leukaemia management education was successful in improving the awareness about management of leukaemia and thus helps them to understand the nature and management of the disease as well as to take the required measures to avoid complications.

A descriptive study to assess the Mental Health Literacy among the Nursing students (18-20 years of) in the selected college at Puducherry. The objectives of the study was to assess the mental health literacy among the Nursing students. The research approach selected for the study was quantitative research approach and descriptive research design. The study was conducted at MTPG&RIHS at Puducherry. Total 100 B.Sc. Nursing Students who completed the subject mental health nursing were selected based on Non-probability convenient sampling. The researcher used standardized tool, Mental Health Literacy Scale (MHLS) data collection. The findings of the study revealed that 82% of samples had moderate level of knowledge on Mental Health Literacy, 18% of samples had adequate knowledge about Mental Health Literacy and none of the samples had inadequate knowledge regarding Mental Health Literacy. Regarding knowledge, out of 100 samples, 82% of subjects are belongs to moderate knowledge about Mental Health Literacy and Mental illness. Remaining 18% had adequate knowledge about Mental Health Literacy and Mental Illness none of the samples had inadequate knowledge about the Mental Health Literacy and Mental Illness.

This study was aimed to find out whether or not (1) there is  any significant correlation between reading ability and reading habit, (2) There is any significant correlation between reading ability and internet use, (3) There is any significant correlation among reading ability, internet use, and reading habit of students of private junior high schools in  Kecamatan Ilir Timur II Palembang. This study was a quantitative research approach with a corelational research design. The researcher collected the data through 2 instruments namely, reading test and questionnaires. A test was used to find out students’ reading ability and questionnaires were used to find out students’ reading habits and internet use. The population of this study was 803 and 120 for the population. To analyze the data, the procedures were presenting and describing the data,  testing the hypotheses, and analyzing the regression. From the results, only internet use and reading ability that had a significant correlation (p-value > 0.05). The result of the regression analysis between internet use to reading ability showed that the correlation between those variables was 16,7%.

AbstrakMahasiswa keperawatan mempunyai pengalaman kecemasan ketika melakukan praktik klinik di rumah sakit. Kecemasan yang sangat parah bisa menyebabkan penurunan perfoma dan bisa membahayakan pasien. Walaupun mahasiswa sudah mempersiapkan diri dengan baik, namun ternyata terdapat beberapa faktor yang dapat menyebabkan kecemasan, termasuk lingkungan rumah sakit. Tujuan penelitian: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat apakah terdapat hubungan antara lingkungan rumah sakit dengan kecemasan mahasiswa keperawatan. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan desain deskriptif korelasi dan menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 73 responden yang merupakan mahasiswa keperawatan yang sedang menjalankan praktik klinik di rumah sakit. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan accidental sampling dan data diambil selama bulan Juli 2017. Variabel kecemasan dalam penelitian ini diukur menggunakan DASS 21 dengan mengambil bagian kecemasan sedangkan kuesioner untuk variabel lingkungan rumah sakit adalah rancangan peneliti dan telah dilakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis chi square. Hasil: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara lingkungan rumah sakit dengan kecemasan mahasiswa keperawatan (p value=0,045). Rekomendasi: Penelitian ini merekomendasikan untuk melanjutkan penelitian untuk mengatasi kecemasan mahasiswa saat melakukan praktik klinik di rumah sakit.Kata kunci: kecemasan, lingkungan rumah sakitHOSPITAL ENVIRONMENT AND ANXIETY LEVEL IN STUDENTS WHEN DOING CLINICAL PRACTICESAbstractNursing students have experiences of anxiety when doing clinical practices in a hospital. Very severe anxiety can decrease performance and endanger patients. Although students have prepared themselves well, there are several factors causing anxiety, including hospital environment. Objective: This research aims to identify the correlation between hospital environment and anxiety in nursing students. Methods: This research is a quantitative research using descriptive correlation design and using cross sectional approach. The samples were 73 respondents who were nursing students conducting clinical practices in the hospital. Samples were taken using accidental sampling and data was collected during July 2017. The anxiety variable was measured using DASS 21 by taking the anxiety section. Questionnaire for hospital environment variable was made by researcher and its validity and reliability had been tested. Data were analyzed using chi square. Results: The results of this research indicated that there was a significant correlation between hospital environment and anxiety in nursing students with p value=0.045. Conclusion: This research recommends that further research should be conducted to overcome anxiety in students when conducting clinical practices in the hospital.Keywords: Anxiety, hospital environment

Introduction:PCOS is most common non-communicable disease in females after hypertension and diabetes mellitus in India. Females with PCOS have a higher risk of developing health complications like infertility, HTN, abortion, insulin resistance etc. Lack of knowledge and poor lifestyle choices are considered to be the major factor leading to this syndrome. Nurses are in unique position to create awareness regarding this syndrome. Informed choices and lifestyle management like weight loss ,stress management are key factors in management of this disease. Objectives:The objective of the study was to assess the knowledge regarding PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) among Nursing Students. Methodology: The present study has used Quantitative Research Approach and Descriptive Research Design. A total 60 nursing students who were studying in DGNM 3rd year and B.Sc. Hons Nursing 4th year participated in the study. Data was gathered using demographic sheet and structured questionnaire which was administered through online mode after formal permission. Descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, means and median and standard deviation were used to describe the demographic profile and level of knowledge regarding PCOS. Result:The study found that majority of Nursing Students (60%) have average knowledge, 38.33% have Good knowledge and 1.66% have poor knowledge regarding Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Conclusion:The finding of the study indicates that the majority of the Nursing students had average knowledge regarding Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

The study was conducted with the aim to assess the association of stress among nursing students and their demographic variables.Stress arises when there is increasing demand from external factors and is commonly found in nursing students due to number of factors like; academic stress, new environmental stress etc. Quantitative research approach with Quasi Experimental, Non-randomized control group design [Pre-test –Post-test Control group design] was used Total enumerate sampling technique was used to collect data from the 40 subjects who fulfilled the inclusion criteria and were assigned to control group (n=20) and experimental group (n=20). Findings of the present study revealed that there was statistically significant association of level of stress score in the control and the experimental group with the age, total monthly income of the family, and residence of the study subjects with (p=0.008),(p=0.027), and (p=0.000) respectively, while as no association was found between pre-interventional level of stress scores in the control and the experimental group with other demographic variables like gender (p=0.113), and type of family (p=0.429) at 0.05 level of significance.The results revealed that there was significant association between the age, total monthly income of family and residence of study subjects with pre-interventional level of stress scores of control and experimental group. Whereas no significant association was found between demographic variables i.e. gender and type of family with pre-interventional level of stress scores of control and experimental group.

Abstract Background Dysmenorrhea is a common problem which can alter the daily routines of females. Primary dysmenorrhea affects 40 to 90% women. Dysmenorrhea sufferers account for 3 among 4 women as per evidences. Traditional remedies are chosen to get some relief because of their least side effects. These remedies have a favorable effect in reducing dysmenorrhea. Ginger is used since ancient times as various forms of alternative medicine. One of the traditional uses of ginger is for pain relief, including menstrual pain. The aim of this study was to identify the effectiveness of ginger tea in dysmenorrhea. Objectives The objectives of this study are (1) Assess the level of dysmenorrhea among nursing students. (2) Determine the effectiveness of ginger tea on dysmenorrhea among nursing students. (3) Find the association between level of dysmenorrhea before the administration of ginger tea and demographic variables. Methodology A quantitative research approach with quasi-experimental design was considered. The sample comprised of 50 students with moderate and severe menstrual pain as per numerical pain rating scale. The baseline data was collected. Ginger tea was prepared by the researcher and administered 120 mL to the subjects; on the first 2 days of menstruation in the morning and night after breakfast and dinner, respectively. Level of different aspects of pain was assessed before the administration as well as 2 hours after administration of ginger tea using Pain Quality Assessment Scale. Pre- and post-test were taken before as well as 2 hours after administering the drink. A total of four doses are given and ratings were measured eight times. Data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results The present study revealed that the median score of all seven characteristics of pain was higher in the preintervention when compared with postintervention. Mann-Whitney U test showed that there was a significant difference in level of pain between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05). Wilcoxon signed-rank test showed that there was a significant difference in pain measurements before and after the administration of ginger tea (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that ginger tea was effective in reducing menstrual pain. Chi-square test and likelihood ratio were used to find the association between baseline dysmenorrhea with demographic and clinical variables. It was found that there is no significant association (p > 0.05). The responses given by the experimental and control group was mentioned separately. Ginger tea effects and experience were verbalized by the experimental group alone. This supported the statistical finding that ginger tea is effective in reducing dysmenorrhea. Conclusion Findings revealed that the administration of ginger tea can bring a sudden relief among the subjects with dysmenorrhea. The awareness about alternative therapies must be created among public.
