This analytical cross-sectional study aimed to assess the correlation of oral health literacy (OHL) and oral health status and behavior in participants of a pre-marriage counseling program. Also, it aimed to determine the target population’s OHL needs to design necessary interventions. A total of 828 couples with a mean age of 24.22 years participating in a pre-marriage counseling program were evaluated. Data were collected using the oral health literacy-adult questionnaire (OHL-AQ). Clinical oral examinations were performed to measure the gingival index (GI), plaque index (PI), and DMFT. The mean OHL score of the couples was 7.86±3.83 out of 17; while, the mean DMFT score was 6.30±5.73. After controlling for the confounders, OHL had a significant correlation with the frequency of dental visits, and smoking status, and inverse correlation with the number of decayed teeth and missing teeth, and PI, and GI (p<0.05). The current results highlight the necessity of OHL interventions to fill the existing gaps. This is an unmet need of the couples, and such interventions are required to promote their own oral health as well as the oral health of their future children.

Introduction: Sexual health is an important aspect of public health, especially in women. Healthy and satisfying sexual intercourse is an important factor in maintaining family health and preventing sexual disorders. In Iran, the prevalence of women sexual disorders was reported 31-72% in different age groups. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a post marriage marital skills educational program on sexual function of women referring to the marriage counseling center of Mehriz City in 2020. Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted on 72 women who had been married for 6 months to one year. The participants were divided into the control (n = 36) and intervention (n = 36) groups. The data were collected using female sexual function index (FSTI) questionnaire. The intervention group was educated in 4 sessions of 120 minutes. Data analysis was performed by SPSS version 22 using descriptive and analytical statistics. Results: The mean age of the subjects in the intervention group was 22.58±4.83 and in the control group was 21.83±4.01years. The results showed that after the educational intervention, the mean score of sexual function increased significantly from 22.9 to 27 in the intervention group (p <0.05). There was also a significant increase in sexual desire, psychological stimulation, vaginal moisture, orgasm, satisfaction and a decrease in sexual pain (p <0.05). In the control group, the mean score of sexual function did not change significantly. Conclusion: It seems that the designed intervention of marital skills education on women's sexual function had a significant effect on all dimensions of sexual function. It is recommended that educational-counseling interventions be performed after marriage in health centers.

The science of conflict resolution is a good candidate for a new science dedicated to resolving the age-old feud between mankind and nature, an unwarranted feud initiated and perseverated against nature without provocation or retaliation by its domestic partner. Although representative conflict resolution models exist such as ad litem, nature presents a unique problem when it comes to conflict resolution, because (unlike a human child) nature is not meant to “grow up” and become a career-focused, tax-paying citizen. Marriage counseling might work, but the genuine needs of nature cannot be reconciled with the imaginary rights of man, nor his demand to dominate and abuse his partner. A reverence-based biophilic model is needed, wherein true love matters more than the husband's prosperity.

Abstract Background: Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are among the most important health issues in the world. Negative attitudes and lack of knowledge are among the main reasons for the spread of these diseases. The aim of this study is to examine the knowledge and attitude of couples regarding STDs. Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted from December 2017 to June 2018. Participants were 393 couples about to get married referring to pre-marriage counseling center in Qazvin, Iran. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire including questions about knowledge and attitude about STDs and demographic characteristics. Data were analyzed using multivariable linear regression via stepwise method. Results: The average age of participants was 25.77 ± 6.69 years and 52.7% were females. The knowledge and attitude mean (SD) scores about STDS were 5.86 (4.70) and 91.68 (9.88), respectively. Participants had the highest information about hepatitis and the lowest information regarding human papillomavirus and chlamydia. Age was the only significant independent predictor of knowledge toward STDs (β= 0.13, 95%CI:[0.11; 0.17]). Age (β= 0.13, 95%CI:[0.11; 0.17]), gender (Male vs. Female)(β= -0.14, 95%CI:[-4.85;-0.64]) and educational status (academic vs. diploma) (β=0.18, 95%CI:[ 1.28; 5.74]) were the significant independent predictors of attitude toward STDs. Moreover, knowledge was an important predictor of attitude (β= 0.41 in crude model and β=0.36 after adjusting for demographic variables). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that young couples referring to pre-marriage counseling center have low knowledge and average attitude toward STDs. Therefore, it is recommended that proper workshops be conducted about STDs in order to increase the couples’ knowledge (especially in the case of human papillomavirus and chlamydia)
