The exchange of oxygen in the blood is influenced by red blood cells. If there is interference in pregnant women can cause anemia. Anemia in pregnancy results in fetal hypoxia. Hypoxia in the fetus can cause asphyxia in the newborn. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the degree of anemia and the incidence of asphyxia in newborns at the Sumatra Island Regional General Hospital. The research design used was case-control with analytical survey techniques. Sampling was done by random sampling technique on 80 respondents. The study was conducted for one month. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that asphyxiated babies were born to mothers with moderate levels of anemia, while mothers with mild anemia gave birth to non-asphyxiated babies. The results of the chi-square obtained = 0,000 < 0,005, meaning that the hypothesis is accepted. Bleeding is still the second highest cause of AKI in Gorontalo Province. Bleeding in the mother after delivery can be caused by retained placenta, which is a condition where the placenta has not been born 30 minutes after the fetus is born. Nipple stimulation carried out immediately after the baby is born can influence the hypothalamus to release the hormone oxytocin which will strengthen uterine contractions thereby shortening the time for placental separation. Objective: To analyze the effect of nipple stimulation on the duration of expulsion of the placenta. This research method uses Pre Experiment Design research with Static Group Comparison. The k population used was 30 mothers who gave birth normally, consisting of 15 respondents in the nipple stimulation intervention group and 15 respondents in the control group. Independent variable; nipple stimulation and the dependent variable of the duration of expulsion of the placenta. Results: The average length of time for expulsion of the placenta in the nipple stimulation intervention group was 7.07 minutes and the control group mother was 11.13 minutes. The results of statistical tests with Independent t-test = 0.004 < 0.05.The conclusion is that there is an effect of nipple stimulation on the duration of expulsion of the placenta.

The incidence of infection in newborns (BBL) in Indonesia is 24%-34%. Infection in BBL is the number 2 cause of neonatal death by 49%-60%. Neonatal mortality in developing countries is 50% due to umbilical cord infection, sepsis and neonatal tetanus. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of umbilical cord care in newborns using dry open technique and sterile gauze against umbilical cord rupture. The type of research was pre-experimental post-test only design and the sample of this study was 30 newborns at the Puskesmas with purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted for 3 months. The results showed that the umbilical cord care technique with the dry open method made the umbilical cord detach faster than the sterile gauze method. The time for releasing the umbilical cord with the dry open method took 123.8 hours and the time for releasing the umbilical cord with sterile gauze took 170.8 hours. The results of the analysis showed the significance value of 0.004 and the Levin test result of 138%. Conclusion there is no more effective between sterile gauze and dry open umbilical cord treatment against umbilical cord detachment. Suggestions for midwives and health workers can socialize postpartum mothers in umbilical cord care for newborns using open techniques and sterile gauze.
