Research background: Consumers’ interest in environmental responsibility, sustainable consumption, and the circular economy is significantly increasing in all aspects of their lives. Clothing and fashion are clearly among these aspects. The fashion industry is one of the most resource-intensive and environmentally polluting industries. Circularity has been offered as a solution to this issue; however, the change must be in the attitudes of all concerned (Musova et al., 2021b). Businesses must react to this requirement for sustainable fashion, which is the reason that new circular concepts have been raised. Different generations prefer different models of circularity. Purpose of the article: The purpose of the current study is to detect the existence of dependency between generation and the fashion industry’s circular models, and to identify consumers’ specific preferences. Methods: The original consumer survey was undertaken by the authors in 2021, and involved 513 Slovak and 974 Czech consumers, who responded on their preferences in the circular economy. Pearson’s chi-square test of independence was used to confirm the dependence between consumers’ generation and the circular concept. The significant medium dependence of the nominal variables was confirmed by Pearson’s contingency coefficient, C, and Cramer's V. The relationships between the generation categories of Central European consumers and the categories of the new circular models in the fashion industry were established through correspondence analysis. Findings & Value added: The findings of the study suggest that Baby boomers single out capsule wardrobes, Generation X prefers patchwork and slow fashion, while Millennials prioritise GOTS and SWAP. Finally, Generation Z favours leasing jeans, upcycling, and renting clothes.

As farmers are exposed to risk and uncertainty, they are unable to make optimal choices. The main purpose of this paper was to present how farmers perceive risk in agriculture. To meet the objective defined above, this paper relied on the results of a 2018 survey conducted with a sample of 137 legume farms across the country. The information was analyzed and described with the use of descriptive statistics methods. Also, the correlation between selected characteristics was assessed with the Pearson’s contingency coefficient (C) based on the chi-square test of independence. Most interviewees (71%) perceive the effects of risk as the possible emergence of losses or profits, while 29% associate risks with losses only. None of the interviewees declared the perception of risks purely as an opportunity to reap benefits. The respondents believe that agricultural businesses should be most wary of production risk (an average rating of 11.6) and market risk (8.1 to 9.0).

Dengue fever occurrences are still problematic in Nanggulan district, Kulon Progo regency, which is in each year, the number of cases varies in each village. This research used ‘cross sectional’  design which samples of this research were taken from all the houses in Wijimulyo village as endemic  village, and Banyuroto village as non-endemic village. The number of samples used in this research of 94 respondents. The instrument that used in obtaining data were questionnaires and observation check list. The result of Chi Square test in endemic village with influential factor dengue mosquito brending eradication was respondent attitude (p = 0,009) Contingency coefficient (p = 0,391), corelation is adequate, and action (p = 0,009) contingency coeficcient (p = 0,391) corelation is adequate . The result  of Chi Square test in non endemic village with influential factor mosquito brending eradication was action (p = 0,011) Contingency coefficient (p = 0,422) corelation is adequate and action (p = 0,040) Contingency coefficient (p = 0,365) corealtion is adeqaute and it is found the fact that it’s better in non endemic village than in endemic village. Variable which influenced respondent attitude and existance of wiggler were not draining the tub over a week, used bucket, used can, used tire, not covering the tub, having fishless fond, so that the public health departement through Puskesmas suggest to conduct counseling of dengue mosquito breeding eridication, fond village monitoring by village officer and health officer to be drained in harvest season until planting season, changing permanent tub with impermanent one or big bucket in order to be easy to be cleaned. Keywords:Dengue Fever, Mosquito Breedin

Meningiomas are considered the most common intracranial tumors, affecting mainly women. Studies in mixed populations can be of great importance to clarify issues related to the genetic diversity of tumors and their development. Considering that data obtained from analyses of the profile of copy number alterations (CNA) have been a useful diagnostic indicator for many types of tumors and that meningiomas show a complex pattern of gains and losses in the number of copies, our objective was to analyze the CNA profile in 33 samples of meningiomas of different histological grades (WHO Grade I-III) from patients in a city located in the Amazon region of Brazil, using aCGH. We found that the female to male ratio was 3 : 1. The aCGH analysis revealed a total of 2304 CNA, with an average of 69.8 ± 57.4 per case, of which 1197 were gains (52%), 926 were losses (40.2%), 105 were amplifications (4. 5%), and 76 were deletions (3.3%). A significant relationship was observed between the type of CNA and the degree of the tumor (chi-square test: χ2 = 65,844; p<0.0001; contingency coefficient: C = 0.1772; p<0.0001). Evaluating the recurrent changes in at least 50% of the samples, we observe as the most frequent losses of the segments 22q13.1-q13.2 (82%), 1p35.3 (76%), and 14q13.1-q13.2 (67%), involving all histopathological grades. The analysis of these regions showed the inclusion of genes with functions such as regulation, maintenance of cell survival, reorganization of the cytoskeleton, cell signaling, and DNA repair, among others. However, overall, the profiles observed in meningiomas of this admixed population were very similar to the ones observed in Caucasian groups. An interesting finding was a recurrent gain of 8p22 observed only in grade I meningiomas, a region which includes DLC1, a suppressor candidate gene probably implicated in the developments or progression of meningiomas, usually found deleted, when related to CNAs.

Research background: The coronavirus has impacted the global economy as many businesses had to close due to the restrictions, and people’s spending and saving behaviour have changed. According to the negative consequences of the COVID-19, people reconsider their expenditures and rearrange their savings. To avoid the spread of infection, several employers switched to a home office where it was possible. As a result of working from home in numerous cases, monthly housing expenditures have increased. To prevent the spread of the disease, a great number of people tried not to appear in crowded places. Therefore, online shopping came to the fore. Purpose of the article: The main purpose of the article is to give a comprehensive picture of the relationship between the respondents’ job losses and their attitudes towards savings. Furthermore, the association was analysed, and its strength and direction were measured between the increased monthly housing expenditures and the reconsideration of shopping intentions. Moreover, the association was examined between the decreased spendings on commuting and the frequency of online shopping. Methods: The research was conducted among residents in two neighbouring V4 countries, Slovakia and Hungary. To analyse the formulated hypotheses, a nonparametric Pearson's chi-square test and Somers’ delta tests were used. Findings & Value added: Thanks to the results, it can be declared for both countries that there is an association between job losses due to the pandemic and saving behaviour. Based on Somers‘d test, there is a positive correlation between spending less on commuting and online shopping frequency and increased housing expenditures and shopping reconsideration between the respondents.

Research background: The state of financial distress or imminent bankruptcy are very difficult situations that the management of every company wants to avoid. For these reasons, prediction of company bankruptcy or financial distress has been recently in a focus of economists and scientists in many countries over the world. Purpose of the article: Various financial indicators, mostly financial ratios, are usually used to predict the financial distress. In order to create a strong prediction model and a statistically significant prediction of bankruptcy, it is advisable to use a deep statistical analysis of the data. In this paper, we analysed the real financial ratios of Slovak companies from the year 2017. In the phase of data preparation for further analysis, we checked the existence of outliers and found that there are some companies that are multivariate outliers because are significantly different from other companies in the database. Thus, we deeply focused on these outlying companies and analysed whether to be an outlier is a sign of financial distress. Methods: We analysed whether there are much more non-prosperous companies in the set of outlier companies and if their financial indicators are significantly different from those of the prosperous companies. For these analyses, we used testing of the statistical hypotheses, such as the test for equality of means and chi-square test. Findings & Value added: The ratio of non-prosperous companies between the outliers is significantly higher than 50 % and the attributes of non-prosperity and being an outlier are dependent. The means of almost all financial ratios of prosperous and non-prosperous companies among outliers are significantly different.
